It would be yeah, but that twitter post is just that - it specifies that GGXXACP’s upcoming release for XBL/PSN has been delayed. This is the 3rd confirmation from ArcSys that we’re getting standard AC, so unless there’s a drastic change in plans from this point on it’s pretty set in stone what we’re in for.
That tweet could be taken to mean either Accent Core Plus or Plus R. It hasn’t been really confirmed yet.
Regardless, it’ll be nice to play GG against other humans (ones that actually WANT to play it, unlike when I twisted my brother’s arm and made him play it with me.)
I really hope the community uses this opportunity to bring the game’s profile up a bit. People keep raging against BlazBlue and wishing for a return of Guilty Gear, and now here it comes. So what’s the community gonna do with it?
That’s a good question. I love this game ever since I had my ass handed to me by Koogy but, I don’t wish for this game to be like what happened to 3SOE. Regardless I’ll do my part in my local scene to support it whenever I can & play it online constantly since this & Jojos are my favorite game to play. It’s just tough bringing in new blood & I am one of them.

I think GV has always been mashable, but hasn’t been actually useful since vanilla X2.

There are many in the Third Strike community who will bitch about anything short of Capcom delivering an arcade cabinet to each of their houses. 3SO had its faults but is overall a good port and I’ll bet that a lot of the people complaining about it are still playing it.
Having a version of GG with net odd will at least give people a reason to learn the game. I sit in training mode and play the computer, but knowing you probably won’t get to use a lot of those skills you learn unless you’re fortunate enough to have people near you who play sucks. So regardless, having an online edition of GG on a current console can only bE good for the community. Now it’s just a matter of seeing where the community takes it.
Get buried under CP hype?
I know you’re going to think that shouldn’t be the case, but a lot of this release’s hope for picking up players was those BB kids going “why does everyone dislike BB?”, and Arc pretty much waved a shiny object in front of them. Converting Street Fighter or Marvel players seems like something of a non-starter.
…except that in his twitter, he always uses “GGXXAC+R” to refer to Plus R.

According to Andria Sang the console version is the normal Accent Core Plus edition of the game in PlayStation 2 and it will be “updated later” to R as a download… i just hope that this “update” doesn’t mean we need to pay as a DLC.
Does it really matter? It’s not as if I’d be hesitant to pay twice the maximum XBLA price for it anyways. Practically speaking I see no way that could happen anyways. Not like they charged for CSII, there’s no…“content” there.
Also firmly in the window where people would start dropping the current BB to wait for the new one coming out in arcades in December, awww yeah. Still better than sitting on top of P4A at least.
Hype has returned in full force!! But then I found out it’s the original, which I’m cool with. However, making R later for DLC does sound like a bad move.
I wonder how long they will wait to update to +R. Hopefully people will stay play Core+
Usually western releases from ArcSys games has a 4-8 months timeframe give or take? I know I’ll playing AC+ when it comes out. I’m just happy I can play the game on my nice stick instead of the broken down ones I have on PS2.
ah. AC+ for PSN? I’ll grab it simply for the fact that I have no other GG games. It would be nice to see what the game is like. I guess I will soon have my chance.
