GGXXAC+R is still in the location testing phase, isn’t it? It’d make more sense to just re-release AC+ on PSN/XBLA then.
any dates dropped yet? is still loketesting so when could we see it?
This may be the wrong game quote for this thread but…“profound sadness”
wasn’t that one of the images used on the site when they first announced GGAC+ for psn and xbl, way before they announced GGAC+R?
because seriously, releasing GGAC+ when GGAC+R is on the works is plain stupid, lol
edit
not to mention that when you try to acces the web page where that image was hosted it redirects you to the GGXXAC+R website
I know we don’t have any faith in game developers anymore, but seriously?
What the fuck makes you think they’re not giving us +R?
What the fuck would they even be making it for?
Use your goddamn head.
[troll]GG on xbla/psn is going to be regular AC
*doesn’t post any concrete info[/toll]
I don’t get why you guys are getting so angry over this. Is it really so hard to comprehend the idea that we’re getting AC+ this summer(?) because AC+R won’t be ready until fall/winter and so that arcades have some exclusivity.
Seriously, two confirmations from Arcsys, plus a bit of common sense. “Use your goddamn head.” indeed
No, it’s a new pic that was posted up within the last week. Unless you’re only talking about the game logo, in which case, it is the same game logo (because it’s the same game).
Here’s the original announcement from Arcsys:

Also, the site that is linked is the Guilty Gear Series website www.guiltygearx.com, you can go there to learn about things related to Guilty Gear.
lol
that announcement is from february 17
they announced GGXXAC+R on may 28
their plans on releasing GGXXAC+ on ps3 and 360 probably changed now that they went the extra mile making a revision instead of porting the game for arcades and consoles like intended on february
the people here is only pointing how stupid on a business pov would be for them to releas ggac+ when they are working on ggac+r
That new banner was uploaded in July
If their plans changed you would think the banner would show that, but it doesn’t.
Business wise it makes sense to not release AC+R on console immediately since AC+R is the first game of their new Ringedge 2 arcade hardware, which they probably want people to have incentive to buy.
and you think that they releasing an outdated game when everyone knows that there is a new version and what they want is to play that one, it make sense
lol
That February announcement says the arcade version was also Accent Core+ and would be playable at AOU nothing saying it would be different. Also there is no release date for Guilty Gear on console only a window which can easily change.
For July we got the ASW Blazblue Charity event which rose 277,000 yen, 3ds mystery game, and more Magical Beat info. Nothing on GGAC+R
I’d be very surprised if Arcsys released the console and arcade versions simultaneously and both were exactly the same game. Can anybody name the last time that that has happened with any fighting game? It probably has happened at some point, I just don’t know when. But the smallest gaps I can remember were during the Dreamcast era, when Naomi conversions took Capcom almost no time at all, and we saw console releases within like a month of the arcade release.
If Arcsys is going to just release GGAC+R on PSN/XBL and not precede it with GGAC+, I’d expect it to come sometime after the arcade release of GGAC+R; it just makes more sense. Personally, I expect Arcsys to release GGAC+ on PSN/XBL first, and then make the upgrade to GGAC+R a DLC of some kind.
This makes sense to me and covers both arguments. Yes, we’ll get R, but only after the arcade version has had its time to shine. R is pretty much just a balance patch anyway. Few truly new moves were added…if any.
I agree, if we’re not getting AC+ now, we’re not getting a console release for some time.
I think Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes would be that game.
yup Tatsunoko vs Capcom, the arcade release was on december 5 and the console release was on december 11 iirc
the other game that had close releases between arcade and onsole that i can remember is sbx april 9 for arcades and june 26 or 28 i dont remember for ps2
Even if we don’t get +R I still believe it’s smart to release Accent Core on PSN/XBLA, test, iron out bugs, and then update to +R. As long as the update is free I’m ok, otherwise fuck it. I might just stick with vanilla Accent Core.
It astounds me people think arcade exclusivity matters for an arcade hardware port that’s “marketable” new feature is shittier versions of characters already in the console version.
Zero 3 Upper and Matching Service are pretty much the same other than porting differences and came out the same time I think?
Release it to Steam please
