EC are kings at these games. Japan will get dominated in this game
Xrd isnât really that different from the previous Guilty Gear games, as far as I know. If any long time players seriously complain about a game as faithful to the previous game as Xrd after capping off the 10 year wait for a new core Guilty Gear title, they are nit picking.
The changes to Dust alone are very not faithful and flat out limit character options. I almost hope Jam isnât in the game because I donât want to deal with not having Impossible Dust.
Not to say that it makes Xrd a bad game, but itâs also not the same GG. If oldschool GG heads say they donât like the changes, they are making valid opinions.
Thatâs what the location tests are for.
Thatâs what the location tests are for.
Location tests do not change mechanics wholesale ASW has already decided what the mechanics are and how they work. Location tests help discover balance and glitches.
GG noob here. How is Dust different?
There are two types of dusts currently. The regular dust, sans the impossible dust glitch, where you leap in to the air, like in the first trailer. And a new dust, where you just stay on the ground, that looks to mimic the glitch in not a how-do-I-do-this-glitch-? kinda way. I think I read that it gave a kinda Hnk multi-wallslam effect or something.
I know a lot of old GG heads, and we all love the direction Xrd is going. So do our new players too.
Iâm kinda excited to see how I-no handles the run follow up to dust. Maybe sheâll be able to hoverdash~VCL (if she even has VCL. Daisuke plz)
just5moreminutes: DevilJin_01:Its still an âanimeâ game and like every new fighting game that comes out, people are investing in the idea that the game will be good rather than knowing how good it will be a year or 2 down. Youâre going to have the typical old GG fans who wonât like the way the game has changed and just wonât play it. Theyâll be a small amount of people, but like every fighting game theyâll make themselves very vocal.
Other than that GG was always the most popular anime game in the US and unless Capcom does something crazy, itâll be the number 3 game at tournaments behind SFIV and Marvel and do well sales wise.

Isnât the forward dash follow up basically an in-system Impossible Dust?
rayplay: Vegeas:GG is probably the best fighter being released next year. So I think itâs possible for it to be top for awhile.
That implies the majority actually plays good games, which sadly isnât really true.
To be honest, calling other games bad is the best way of getting no one new to play your game :).
Iâm sure GG will get play but I donât know if it will be as popular as before. SF came right at the tail end of the Karate/Kung Fu Boom of the late 80âs - early 90âs, GG came during the Anime boom in the USA, those times were the best possible moments for each game to be released. Now that the USAâs anime love has faltered a bit, I donât think GG might be able to ride that wave. However, with the growth of the FGC, Iâm sure itâll get new players, especially the Marvel heads.

Hey now, fine print says I didnât call any game bad, but my unneeded pettiness aside, I agree with you.
Personally, and maybe I may be in a minority here, but I think one way to get people to play Guilty Gear (and some other games) is to not overestimate how hard it is to get into. Iâve seen so many posts around the net of people talking about the hardest aspects of Guilty Gear, but they neglect to bring up that NONE of these features actually come into play until you get to at least mid level intermediate. I personally think a lot of people are scared off by Guilty Gear because of how complex it seems, but I think it actually has a lot of on paper complex features (an example is probably clean hits, which seems like something really hard to know for someone like Sol, until you realize that the timing and spots to hit arenât that much different across the board).

Japan get dominated in Guilty Gear? The LOL button isnât big enough.

No.
Guilty Gear has a lot of stuff you can know, which is often confused with need to know. I mean, look at Steve H.

There are very few N.American players that can stand toe to toe with the best Japan has to offer in this game.
Time for us to level up then. Didnât Bannana Ken beat every Japanese player in P4A in the evo after team tourney?
Man reading these, you guys arenât winning against anyone anytime soon.

The local Guilty Gear players in my area would switch back and forth between different Guilty Gear players. Some even went back to playing Slash for a while during the pre 2009 days. The changes donât seem as radical as that between the older SF and Marvel games I will say that much. StillâŚgonna have those that wonât like the new direction just like any fighter and weâll have to hear them out.

How so? Because that (an replacement for ID) seems to be the reaction to it that Iâm seeing in other sites like DustLoop as well.
Please Please PLEASE alternate costumes. I hate what they did with Axl >___<
