Once you get past the muscle memory needed to make him work, Zato’s game plan is more straight forward than hers. Both take work, but Zato can be labbed out in 1P mode to a much greater degree and so it’s easier to see results a little sooner with him.
Millia is largely a setup character with retard 50/50’s. In exchange, her ground normals are pretty shit. Zato is hard to learn to play but other then not having a reversal he doesn’t have a real weakness and his nuetral game is one of the strongest in the cast and his pressure game is the best in the cast. Dealing with Zato is inherently harder then millia, but millia can random you because there is no way to sight her mixups on wakeup consistently. Also most mid-level players will crumple under Zato pressure because even the basic shit is fairly difficult to deal with.
Also millia’s optimal combos are always highly character specific which gives her a big learning curve compared to most. I’m planning on picking up Millia and another character since Jam isn’t in this one.
EDIT: Just so you guys know, the Hori Fighting Commander 4 is common ground. For those who don’t speak Tech Talk, this means that they can be used for Dual Modding your existing arcade sticks.
No, you’re not screwed for attempting to play this game. New players should be encouraged to use Xrd as the jump-in point for GG since it’s bringing things back to the basics of GG without sacrificing the depth of GG.
A friend and I will be doing a comprehensive tutorial for GGXrd when the game comes out. The goal is to make this a fully comprehensive tutorial for GG from the perspective of a new FG player that will cover all of the basic-to-expert level concepts.
And not just Anime fighters, but other fighting games in general, along with other genres like JRPG’s.
Arc System Works has given Xbox 360 plenty of chances, & most of their games didn’t sell squat on that platform. Why should they have to keep wasting their time & money porting their games to Xbox consoles in which they won’t sell? And PC gaming is no better than Xbox platforms in terms of fighting game sales.
Heck, the only reason why Persona 4: Arena Ultimax has been ported to Xbox 360 over in the west, is because that Atlus decided to publish it. If it wasn’t for them, then it would’ve stayed PS3 exclusive after the Arcade version, just like with BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma.
Not sure if id lump PC into that mix. The sales figures never account for digital downloads which is by far the more popular choice for PC gamers. I hear SF4 is decently populated on PC though i dont play it myself…
Additionally, I realized the Lindberg multi game arcade cab in which ive tried out Xrd is a Windows-based platform. That being the case, it shouldnt be THAT difficult or costly to make an actual PC version if there is already a barebones build in place. May also be a cultural thing though as the only Japanese games I see on PC are Mmo’s, hentai games and indie games
Chick with the rack and guitar and the bed-ridden character have the most of my attention so far, but that could all change when I get my hands on the game and check the playstyles.
Any word if it will be possible to dual mod ps3/ps4 or if ps4 stick is necessary? Locals are planning getting it on ps4 so guess I will too. Just wondering what my options are.
There’s a HORI stick available (HRAP Hayabusa I think it is) that works for PS3 and PS4. I’m not sure if that means you can mod for compatibility to PS4, though.
“Been successful on PC”. This is something I hear/read but have yet to hear/read a benchmark for what = “success”. Number of sales? First week? Over time? Installed player base? Tournaments using this platform?
