Pretty cool, but I don’t like the start button being close to the other buttons, because I’m afraid to press it by accident and get disqualified in a tournament.
The Hayabusa looks like a decent stick for the asking price. But i think i’ll wait for the official reveal of the GG XRD stick before i make my decision
But i have a question. How are the JLF springs in a Hori stick compared to the ones in a Madcatz? The reason i’m considering Hori for the first time is because i felt the springs in the SFxT TE were really loose, and it threw me off my game
And me being Arcade Stick illiterate when it comes to the technical side, i wasn’t about to open it, or send it off across country to get modded, so i sold it after just 3 months of use.
There’s a switch on the stick that swaps out the Start and Select button.
There’s not really any difference between JLFs used by different manufacturers. Any differences in feel are usually due to manufacturing differences and certain batches of JLFs sometimes feel looser.
Also, I’m assuming you mean either the the SFxT Pro or V.S. sticks since there never was a TE for SFxT.
For me the biggest incentive of playing a competitive multiplayer game is how big the community is.
Second are the characters and artwork the game sports and last comes in the difficulty.
Skullgirls for example I feel is an amazing game, yet I can’t force myself to play it for more than the 10 hours I got on my Steam account.
I feel like it’s going nowhere. No tournaments to be watched or participate in, I know nobody who plays the game in real life and it just makes me sad feeling almost alone in a multiplayer game.
Same reason I dropped Tekken Tag 2.
Guilty Gear looks cool and I’ll most likely buy the European release once it comes out, but I’m still sceptical on how much of a community this game will gather, especially seeing how it seems to be exactly the same as the previous games which aren’t all that popular in the Western world.
I hope for the best.
Maybe some of you guys can share some insights on the GG community and what you expect the game to be on a tournament scale.
This is an interesting point. IMO, the console release of Xrd might well finally be GG’s time to shine. Multiple/too many releases in the past, bad timing, IP issues and perceived difficulty level etc have conspired to confine GG to niche status.
With the Xrd reboot, after the initial hype/uptake we might well see GG take its rightful place at the top of the Arcsys stable (rest in peace BB, lest we forget)… it still seems to draw a crowd at my local gesen…
But then again, once the hype dies down it might become just another (admittedly well designed, deep and fun) anime fighter in the Arcsys lineup.
I’m curious to see how Arcsys will maintain hype levels, market visibility and presence post-console release.
Finally, while a retail update/release is highly likely (twelve months down the line) - it is interesting to see how Arcys are going about balancing and updating the BB franchise post CP. Hopefully Xrd will take this route.
Millia you have to press too many buttons for. Why not just play Faust and be a cancer that throws crap on the screen and presses a button every now and then?
Yea even low execution or “simple” character take a ton of dedication givin the constraints of the GG system. You still have to be superb at fundamentals or its not going to happen.
Millia has the lowest win % in arcades among the entire cast despite being top tier, so you picked the worst possible example. Unless you meant “those types” to be people who wanted to be rewarded for hard work.
False roman cancels were essentially just frame attacks. The reduction and less emphasis on just frame attacks in games like Soul Calibur and Tekken didnt lower the bar, it just made a system less unforgiving.
Besides, after you learn the timing its just a muscle memory thing. If you werent doing just frames before youre not going to be amazing now.
Sol and Ky are the ones always touted as the beginner characters. Millia is usually one of the most advanced characters particularly with her optimum combos.
