there will not be any cross play between PS3 and PS4?
Blazblue CT was the only fighter to support that (Xbox360 and GFWL). So a similar network framework would help a lot.
Especially after Skullgirls did not add PS3 and Steam crossplay in the end.
There has not been any talk about PS3 and PS4 cross play, but considering that both are Sony consoles, and there are games with cross play between ps3, vita and ps4 iirc there is a good chance for it
What I’m wondering is if the fact that one version will require you to pay to play online will affect that chances of cross play. I mean, by all rights it shouldn’t, but you never know with these corporate types.
Leaving outside the requirement of ps+ on the ps4, unless there is a clear division between the ps3 and ps4 servers and that they normally are separated when it comes about communication between each other i don’t see why cross play should even be a problem.
The problem could be sony themselves. I am not sure about this but i would think that it would cost money to cross play the servers like that. Don’t quote me on that though
Is actually a little more easy than what you think, of course there are some infrastructure stuff to do to allow it, but is not that cost heavy imo. The moment that the servers connect to internet is essentially about wanting to allow it.
ASW knows that 60fps is absolutly needed in order to play the game so i don’t doubt that they will gun for that, perhaps, the compromises that i can see them doing is dumbing down what is happening on the background.
I wonder if the net play allows PS4 for better performance, since the PS3 PSN is lacking.
I believe PS4 also charges for their network? Wondering if we can expect the same qualify of that of Xbox Live.
I dunno, regardless, I’ll be avoiding all PS3 users with my PS4 copy.
I think the more important thing to take from this is that there will be parity for both versions. In other words, gameplay wise, the PS3 version will not be an inferior port.
What I’m wondering however is if the PS4 version will require PSN+. Last I checked, Sony did allow exceptions for games that met certain criteria.
