I don’t follow. Wouldn’t that defeat the benefits of going to 3d models instead of sprites?
LMAO, i am not arguing, i am pointing the funny aspect of them stretching the limbs to match previous hitboxes like you said (which btw is one of the “ltitle” things they did with the sf4 series that i like ), when in the long run they self defeated what they were doing by nerfing the hitboxes making many of them to not match the hitbox
There’s this misconception that says that every game made on UE needs to have super muscular characters (which both makes no sense and is obviously not true if you look at ky and millia on the trailer)
I think your being a little pessimistic. People have been really receptive to the idea of MvC2 coming back, and two years ago Capcom fans were terrified by any game that didn’t hold their hand. Many “09ers” are finally coming around and it’s because herp derp games made it more fun to start out.
I just don’t see it being possible that it won’t be simplified to some degree. Honestly though, I’d love to be able to play Venom without spending five years in a Japanese arcade.
Venom is fun and effective from day one (against players with similar skill) and has plenty of room for growth, as any character should be. His +R version even has easier combos than in AC because the 6P6H loop is gone, and they gave him 10 different ball formations instead of just 5. The character doesn’t need to change. No one prevents you from playing, but to expect them to dumb down chess to bring you closer to Capablanca’s level is absurd.
If you can’t fight equally skilled players with his amazing basic tools like f.S, 2S, 6P AA, P ball, K ball mixups post knockdown, j236D double overhead etc. then the problem is with your fundamentals, not with the character.
I don’t understand why anyone would want GG to be dumbed down. SF4, Injustice, P4A are all available now and are very noob friendly.
The thought of super easy frcs , huge window for slashbacks, nothing but piss easy combos and other easy mode shit making it’s way into GG just makes me shudder. The steep learning curve makes the reward for hard work so satisfying. There is no need to lower the standard GG has set.
Anyway…im pretty stoked. I hope there is in fact a new clash system and the frame advantage goes to the person that used a higher level attack. Crossing my fingers for all the mechanics that are present in AC+R to be implemented into GGXrd.
I wouldn’t mind the FRC window being a little bigger cuz I’m a scrub, and don’t really have the time to spend in the training room i used to, but if it stays the same I don’t mind.
I hope they have one new big mechanic that we can all try to incorporate into our gameplay. If they make frc easier, then the other mechanic can compensate for difficulty, catering to veterans, maybe like a just FRC or something. Also I like having the choice for 1 gold burst (1 blue burst), or two blue bursts.
Probably not gonna happen, but: I’d like to see EX characters return and focus tested for balance. I’ve always liked the idea of different interpretations of a focused and established cast over padding out a roster to 30 - 50 + TTT-style.
At first I thought I was gonna have a problem doing a FRC but after the first day of trying it in matches, I can FRC Baiken’s jumping dust and tatami’s consistently after just grinding it out against someone who knew the game. There is some key points in the visuals that you can spot for in a move that helps you time the FRC, because that’s what I noticed on some moves, like you can FRC when the mat goes vertical. Also you do not need to land a hit to do a FRC, so you can practice FRC on whiffs to get the timing, then move on to practicing it on hitting a character to see if you got the actual timing to get a FRC, if you get a RC you timed it wrong.
I’m sure the game will have a pretty good scene, all the BB and P4A players will give it a try; and P4A has a pretty good scene currently. This will essentially be the “SF4” of the series (I don’t mean that in a negative way, I mean that in terms of popularity and since its “new-gen”), add that to the good netcode Arc is known for and this game should have a good sized community playing and leveling up. I’m a persona player and I’ve never played GG, but I’m very excited and hyped for this game. I’m actually learning how to play AC+ just because of the trailer.
Guilty Gear Xrd will be huge if it lives up to the hype and has excellent netplay. Lack of net play was really what prevented it from becoming popular in the U.S. Most gamers are casual and aren’t going to research to meet up with other players in the region, and there is not much of an arcade scene…but with net play anyone interested in the game can find tons of various opponents with ease.
