Guilty Gear - Who plays?

He’s a hispanic guy, gamer tag is DragonGod. Full name = Lincoln Morris
I think he plays Potemkin and Testament.
He’s in this video, wearing a camo hoodie about 1:50 into it

That’s here:

I wouldn’t mind it one bit if ASW finally released the game as an Online edition title. Their GGPO/BBCS2 netcode is the only thing Accent Core needs alongside player lobbies and spectator. Anything else is a plus to a godlike fighter.

I’m gonna go to the bank so I can buy Reload off GoG today. Having the game on the laptop just makes it more accessible.

More like the “Compliments and wishes for GG while referring new players to dustloop” thread XD

I don’t know him off hand but I did encounter a potemkin player that was probably him, I’m just not sure because there’s only 1 potemkin player that comes but he’s not there all the time.

…I feel out of place @ Dustloop

I agree, it really is a fantastic fighter, the cancels and tension bar to stop lame outs among other things make it truly fantastic, it’s the best pure 2d fighter on the market without a doubt. I heard part of the reason ASW made BlazBlue was losing the rights to GG to their publisher or something along those lines, so unless whoever now owns the rights decides to release a new edition, I doubt it will happen, which is an absolute shame.

I’ve never really been on there forums and honestly don’t know anything about the site. I had a quick look and tbh it seemed really inactive, SRK is great just because of how much activity this site gets.

Dustloop is wack.

Sounds like Lincoln

Arc System Works fully owns the rights to GG now. Before that, GG was owned by Sammy Studios. I think that’s part of the reason Arc System Works made BlazBlue.

Aksys Games is the publisher and distributor for the overseas releases.

ASW went through the trouble of acquiring the license from Sega about five or six months ago. They should be able to make a new Guilty Gear now. Most people expect it to happen after BlazBlue 3(whatever comes after Extend).

I hope we get that online edition first. I have no problem with funding a next gen Guilty Gear title for them this way.

Not a good way to approach the forum. The scene will never grow if people don’t take the first step. It’s just like GGPO and the Vampire community… everyone wants to talk about how cool the game is, but no one wants to help the community grow by simply joining a lobby.

Join Dustloop and talk every once in a while. I haven’t done it, but I’m going to make an account for their BlazBlue, Skullgirls, Vampire and BlazBlue forums.

DL is a solid site but when BlazBlue dropped all kinds of people came out of the woodwork. Someone said it was like when SFIV dropped and SRK changed but on a smaller scale. I haven’t been there in a while but last I saw they were smoothing things out so to speak. If you want to talk gameplay, they’re up for it.

You’re totally right, I’ll jump on board.

I didn’t know that ASW went through the trouble of getting the license, I must say I’m incredibly pleased. Hopefully they continue to use the IP to produce fighters, I know they’ve branched out into action-rpgs with it and I’d rather not see it go down that path, though it could be a possibility since they have BlazBlue now.

ASW certainly haven’t been inactive and I’d definitely love to see a new GG hit the current Gen so lets hope it sees the light of day.

Eh, I’d rather just get a good console port, it’s easier, quicker and not as risky, because a new GG might just be GG.blazblue/GG dumbed down.

Daisuke saidit will happen “eventually”, so for all we know it could be either a new GG or a port but sadly not anytime soon.

I’ve been considering picking up BlazBlue in the meantime

Saw a few vids of BB in action, it looks wildly different from GG as a “spiritual successor”

I played BB. It’s not bad per say but I just didn’t enjoy it as much as GG. I won’t tell people to not give it a shot though. It was somewhat enjoyable for me.

I’ve been pining for a XBL/PSN port of ^Core for what feels like forever. Add all the stuff from ^Core +, plus online mode and I’ll be set for life (or until a new GG gets announced).

edit- and about Dustloop. It is a good site, at least when I joined ( circa 2006). Really informative, a lot of good people. I find the site became a lot more… hostile once BlazBlue came into the picture. Not saying that BB was the instigator of such negative emotion, of course.

There isn’t a section for GG on SRK because there is no reason to have one.
I honestly don’t see why we have a lot of sub forums (KOF, Soul Cal, MK, Smash…etc) when there are already sites like SRK (and some just as big) that are dedicated to said games.

It’s a waste of server space and a just a headache to deal with.

Someone drank too much haterade…

You’re an idiot. How is me basically saying “go somewhere where the people actual focus on those games as a whole instead of SRK that barely focuses on them” equal haterade?

I know if I wanted to learn something about Mortal Kombat I’d go to TestYourMight
If I wanted to learn KOF I’d go to DreamCancel
If I wanted to learn SC I would go to 8-Way Run.
If I want to learn about capcom fighters (if we can even call them that anymore) I come to SRK.
So on and so forth.

Simple as that.

It’s a nice gesture that SRK provides sub-forums for a lot of different fighters but they ultimately aren’t needed.

Personally I love BlazBlue, it’s certainly different to GG, but better than most fighters, I prefer it to any of the tag fighters on the market, and I’d rate it as a highly as a lot of other games. It’s hard to really give an indepth comparison, but I’d say that BlazBlue has larger combo chains and more diversity, but is more forgiving on timing/movement skills. BlazBlue is still an incredibly technical fighter, it’s just perhaps not as barebones as GG which is part of why it’s such a fantastic series. It’s like comparing SSFIV (bb) to SFII (gg). Obviously that’s not a direct comparison, more of an analogy to show that they are similar but distinct.

Cant find any answers on Dustloop at first glance. Who are the best zoning characters in GGXXAC? I’m trying to find overviews for each character on Dustloop but they seem to talk more about combos and setups than overall strategy.

Testament would fit what you’re looking for imo, strong zoning and can transition to offense very easily. Also has good abare/mixups.

If you want I can give you TE info etc.
