I don’t understand why so many people want FK “fixed”, it works perfectly as it is…
I’m not sure what to think about U1 if it gets reverted to vanilla, because i never use it as it is pretty horrific to land without having a super to combo into it and because U2 has far superior utility, far superior chip damage and far superior safety on block. I probably won’t even care to be honest, unless they change U1 to be somehow awesome.
Daigo seems to see something in U1, I’m really not sure what.

… Fucking REGULAR Sonic Boom achieves this already, but you get the added benefit of actually throwing out a Sonic Boom.

I was very happy when I got that little win streak going utilizing U1. Pulling it off from neutral jump mk. c.mp super ultra was awesome… too bad I lost that round, lmao. If I could redo one thing, it would be doing a lvl 3 FA on Aeroplane before doing U1. That would’ve saved me from any potential comebacks. And you were drinking while playing? Tisk tisk mine friend. lol

I watched it only once but you can see at the beginning that FK does slightly less damage.
EDIT: Oh, and you can also see that Guile is going to struggle against skilled Yun players (I have a feeling this will be a bad matchup like the Ibuki or Gouki one).
More rumors like in SSF4…Guile FK recovery is faster, c.forward is faster, etc.
That was a short FK that did regular short FK damage.

Why is everyone implying flash kick is broken?
Combine the use of sonic boom crouching hard punch and flash kick and you have insta easy mode zoning. It doesn’t need to be easier!
Well then, I stand corrected. Perhaps I should have said that “it seemed to do less damage”. I’m just saying this because Gamekult.com (french site) reported on Yun having less life than the usual shotos so what seemed to be a fierce FK at the beginning of the video didn’t inflict much damage as I thought. Nothing to do with rumors though, just impressions.
Anyone know why Guile would need to build super slower? I don’t think he’s really abusing the meter. His EX moves are good, but they aren’t really spectacular, when i’ve played against a Guile i have to respect the meter but it’s not a total and complete game changer.
He can cancel flashkick to make it safer…not really overpowered imo, but if someone feels that way can they explain? His super definitely isn’t abusable so lets leave that alone…and he can’t just combo into his ultra for insane damage because of meter…
So, why does he need less? Also i don’t think he’s doing too much damage at all because most of his bad matchups are characters that have less than stellar health, and they don’t care about how much damage he does.
Or, maybe it’s just a “Ok this is crazy, but how does guile do with this insane change” thing…like seeing how ryu would do with no ultra etc.
i watched the video vs yun. couldn’t tell the difference. i was staring at the super meter and it did look like it was building kinda slower. but i’ve got no evidence to back that up whatsoever. listen to gilley. it’s all wild speculation right now.
Guile doesn’t need “new things”. The fact he actually got an overhead and consequent target combo in SF4 is new enough.
All I want is for Guile to be like he was in vanilla. Less damage overall. That way I can go back to using him and not feel cheap everytime I win. And have an excuse everytime I lose. Win-win.
The Video where they introduced the Yun and Yang, did Guile’s Ultra2 come out quicker? I know they showed off Juri being able to combo her FB charge into the fireball so I was wondering if the text was talking about “new combos” and the like. Nothing official, I’m just curious if it seemed that way to others as well?
About that Guile vs. Yun vid, I was looking at his super meter and it looked to me that SB was doing just a piss poor job at building meter. But when he landed a FK, that meter bar just jumped up like crazy. I’m not sure if FK does the same meter build now or not but it looked curious. I hope they don’t change it and keep it as it is in Super because ex meter is what Guile needs in certain match ups.
I think that if that is the change Guile has received it is fair enough. SBs are used loads in matches, especially vs shoto characters - whereas FK is used much less. This would be a decent balance.

Since SSFIV AE went gold, does anyone still remember the alleged tweaks made to Guile? I heard that U1 was changed to QCF x 2 xx Kick x 3 and I don’t want that.
lol personal opinion i wish they will make guile U2 come out like the one from street fight alpha 3. around him like that when people try to jump over it still get hit hard…
