Yes it was. Just like Ken’s. Or Sagat’s. Or Chun’s. Or Bison’s
In the comments section of the Eventhubs article about Guile, Balrog, and the state of charge characters in general, I found this gem of a comment (in bold), which was in reply to the comment I’ve quoted -
Wew, if this is the case, many guile players will move to Nash tho imo
And from the same user -

SF V was first intend not to have charged characters and quad/half circle motions only anyway**
That will teach me for reading the Eventhubs comment section. The Daily Mail of the FGC.
Guile needs a good c.mk. Cvs2 version was probably the best. Super good range and +6(?). USF4 c.mk was meh.
My favorite SF character Charlie is in, so my main is already set. But if Charlie wasn’t accessible in games (like SFIV), the next obvious choice is Guile. So I am very interesting to see where Guile plays in relation to Nash being in the same game together. Beyond Capcom finally giving closure for both characters (so I assume by Capcom trying real hard to make SFV a good story), I highly doubt Guile/Nash will play the same.
I do think Guile will probably keep his status as 2 specials only/turtle role, not only for being one of the few defensive characters along with Dhalsim, but to be different from Nash who can play offense/defense well. If Guile stays his typical zoning self, his Booms and Flash Kicks would have to be pretty strong to fight off most of the cast because everyone has an answer to projectiles. I definitely see his V-Trigger being Sonic Hurricane that acts like Rashid’s V-trigger to match his play style, though Capcom is trying to not replicate techniques though. I could still see V-Trigger powering up his wind-like moves as well. I don’t know about V-Skill or Critical Art.
Point is, I am interested in his place of the game. OH…and hearing that sweet ass theme song.
It’s like they forget that Dudley exists to differentiate between him and Rog.
Guile will have his 2 signature moves and probably a new one like an advancing attack, HCB probably. He just need good recovery on his sonic boom’s and good normals to answer what the other player do against his fireball pressure.
I think Capcom will make Guile/Nash something like Ryu/Ken, one more traditional solid zoning character and the other one more “flashy” and combo heavy.
I’m fairly surprised that no one has posted this here yet.
Well, capcom is not known for wasting assets so i’m 99% sure this is guile’s character model.
EDIT: mmm time stamp won’t work: It’s at 1:00 exactly.
Yeah but that’s an old photo.
Some of us suspect that the military man at 0:17 could be Guile with a shaved head.
Eh, I guess regardless of what his hair is like he’ll retain that facial structure. Plus we’ll definitely be getting his ST alt
Yeah but that’s an old photo.

Why would an air force pilot be a computer nerd? What, did he change rates?
Yeah but that’s an old photo.

Yup. could be Abel though maybe? I agree it looks like Guile got a new haircut. I imagine they’ll use the same character model in the photo with the old hair though. I was surprised by how good his model looks actually.
I definitely don’t think it’s Guile
I’m almost certain he’s gonna play similar to Remy
Guile VTrigger, special moves no longer require charge.
Do it, Capcom.

It’s an old photo but still has the newer Guile model
I think that ‘military man’ is Balrog. Right build, weird haircut. Probably in the Evil HQ.

The people sitting in the control room are wearing US military uniforms not Shadaloo uniforms. Why would Balrog lower his head like he was disappointed after seeing the countdown anyway? IMO, that’s either an NPC or Guile.

Kinda boring imo…

I think it’s balrog too. Maybe he lowers his head thinking bison has gone too far or some shit…
