You can’t hit him after blocking the vacuum. It’s not sad for gief it allows him to push you right to the corner and get a free CA without you being able to throw booms
I hate that a game that is designed for you to be following with your eyes, just betrays you when your normals are just going through people’s models every single time
Anyone else had this glitch? I was playing some casual matches with my favourite character set to Guile. Then for one match it randomly made me play Ken? Don’t know if it’s Guile specific. I took a video.
So when I beat him with Ryu after where did the skill gap go my friend?
Guile is trash, he was good because he had great normals in 4 but now they are so sluggish and they suck.
They make these new characters worse than the OG cast because otherwise there would be an uproar about “pay to win”. It will be the same wth every DLC character.
If you think Guile is bad, then don’t play him. We don’t need 30 toxic posts from you because you’re salty after losing with a char that hasn’t even been out a day. People thought Ken was bad going into launch, and now look how much success people are having with him after a couple months. On the surface, Guile has the tools to be a strong character, but also looks far more technical than most of the cast. It will obviously take some time to adapt to SF5’s system and match-ups with Guile.
“When I beat him with a character I’m familiar with why did that happen?” “When I won one match how am I still a mega diaper baby?”
Did you know that Guile has dozens of ways to meaty after flash kick and EX Boom? Did you know that Guile’s v skill is basically poison bomb with far better follow ups? Did you know that Guile’s got a long range crush counter that starts in seven frames? Did you know that Guile can link off Sonic Booms? Did you know that every back fist crush counter leads to a max damage combo? Did you know flash kick auto corrects on its own now unlike 4? Did you know that Guile came out last night and that’s what lab monsters have found in just that time? Did you know these things? Did you?
I went 1-4 games with Guile but I think it’s me getting used to playing him again and not his ability to whoop ass. He has all the tools needed to be a solid character, you just need the execution for some of his harder stuff.
If Guile is good, it’s not going to be from a jump-in + V-trigger + CA combo, no matter how much damage it deals (and btw, 500 damage is nothing spectacular for so many resources spent).
Most of the characters (especially the top tiers) draw their strenght from converting medium attacks into big damage from a decent distance and a safe confirm, and Guile is absolute ass at that. Almost no links (and his normals with good hitstun have a 2 and a half pixels range), almost no special-cancellable normals, and his target combos are insanely unsafe. Maybe he’s good, but you have to play it completely differently from other characters - not unlike Dhalsim. Is Sonic Boom’s 8 frames shorter than hadoken enough to compensate everything else Guile does worse than Ryu ? I doubt it, but I hope I’ll see good Guile players prove me wrong.
At first glance his anti airs seem mostly the same as SF4 (df.hk, st.mk, backfist, b.hp etc). But then there’s neutral st.hp that crush counters as an anti air. Then add the fact that booms recover differently and then you realise that you have to learn all the ranges again. So I think the main issue right now is trying to forget SF4 Guile.
This is my problem. I’m not calling his booms bad, but they don’t seem nearly as good as they were in 4. Between that and different combos and its fucking with me.
Annoys me how his old fierce is b+hp and this new stubby fierce is neutral hp. I keep squandering damage on big punish opportunities because I’m charging back when I hit HP
