Having an EX invincible reversal still puts him better than a lot of the other cast for defense. Especially if it canāt be low profiled. Sonic blade is a stationary projectile so its something he can sit behind and then use buttons to stop people trying to anti projectile their way in.
Unless he has trouble converting damage I see him being high tier
He looks extremely strong to me and Iām usually pessimistic about Guile. Even his walk speed is way better than I thought it was going to be. He looks at least Ken level imo.
Iām hoping to balance him out that they gave him low stun like in previous games, otherwise we are going to be hearing a lot of moaning about him. The other good news is if he turns out to be ass (which I think is unlikely), an easy buff will be to give him a motion super.

Yup. Iām trying to work out if you gain any V meter for someone landing on it or being hit by it. You definitely get some for hitting someone with a boom thatās passed through the sonic blade.
Crush counter sweep and then sonic blade is going to be interesting. I think thatās probably why sweep is still punishable.
In this game when you think you should be booming, you probably should blade first every time. Thatās unless your opponent is near, but then you probably shouldnāt be throwing a boom either.

Notice that the V-Skill changes shape towards the end of the animation too. I think that means something.
My guess the best setup will be counter hit upside down kick, cr.mp, V-Trigger/Sonic Hurricane/both.

When youāre already going to have a poking and AA game as strong as Guiles I doubt itāll be unfortunate in the long run. Its unfortunate for Laura because her AA and neutral game is suspect before considering the fireball.

I believe someone ( @Eternal iirc) compiled a list of jump- and walkspeeds in both games. They were relatively similar on average, I believe.
SFV has faster dashes on average, though, which also factors in.
Walk speeds on average were a LOT faster in both directions for SF4 vanilla, however with ultra walk speeds forward were slightly faster in 4 slightly slower backwards in SF4. Dashes were noticeably faster as there are more 16~17Fs while SF4 average was ~18F and backdashes are faster in SFV thanks to no invincibility they could do this safely. Dashes seem farther in SFV but Iāve never tested. Jumps are slower other than Chun/Bison (same/1F faster). Ryu/Ken has 36 air frames in SF4, 38 in SF5, Gief 37 vs 39, Sim 59 vs 64, Vega 35 vs 39, Cammy 36 vs 39. Basically the average is about 2~3F slower than SF4.
There are, however, more variations on walk speeds and more distinct difference between a fast - average - slow character.
Example: Ryu is 0.047/0.034 IN sfv while 0.045/0.03 in SF4. Faster. However a character 0.035/0.03, like Gief, was considered slow. Yet Gief/Birdie are 0.0305/0.0235 and 0.031/0.024 respectively. Nash is slower than unoiled Hakan. Dhalsim is slower than SF4 Dhalsim.

Havenāt seen any official / confirmed numbers, but I checked a couple frames from the WSO video when they had attack data turned on, and it looks to me like 950/1000 (H/S). It may be 950/950, it was harder for me to tell with how small the stun meter is compared to health.

I thought they did ok. They said themselves they were told specifically not too go to far with sitting in training mode trying stuff.
