I would say Nash is the best reinvention, but seeing as how he’s almost totally different, I see what you mean and I agree.

Gameplay, yes. Character design, no.

As long as his standing fierce has a good hitbox, I’m happy tbh. Additional target combos will definitely be a boon.

Fang and Bison struggle sometimes because of the 4 frame normal thing but I don’t think that’s going to be such a problem for Guile.

Not talking about aesthetics, but gameplay.

Many of the clothes changes are kinda… natural and safe, what is naturally cool. I like most of the redesigns equally, just some faces and hair are really poorly made.

As far as the crouch walk is concerned…

Do guys think he can safely block from that state? What would be the point of every just walking forward if you can crouch walk and charge for a boom or flash kick. There has to be a hang up right?

You talking gameplay then Capcom hasn’t changed him at all. They gave him moves that will make him better at what he already does. That’s not reinventing the wheel.

So, this looks like the best projectile character in the game, by a mile. Backed up by solid normals (though they seem to have recovery so you can jump/punish them on whiff), okay walkspeed, all that jazz.

Sign me up, I’m gonna play this guy.

Great, now I have a reason to play this game again and go to Evo. I swear SFV didn’t feel right without Guile. After maining him in ST, CVS2, and in SFIV since vanilla day 1 it feels a little empty not having Guile to fall back on. I could care less how good or bad he is or if he sucks. He’s my goto character in any SF game, and SFV just wasn’t the same without him.
