Guile confirmed charge, lack of arcade explained, and a little Alex info

If alex moves are going to be so different, might as well shoulda made him Tom.

but what about “hyper…bomb”

no.

charging is sticky as hell in 5.
being serious now for a moment even if 5 had partitioning, it would feel terrible compared to 3S.
too sticky.

i can see urien’s tackle being qcf or hcf. i think making him charge would be a mistake in 5.

Not to mention unrealistic AI that counters damn near everything you do if you fight normally, but then loses to one or two specific moves that humans would probably adapt to quickly.

V-skill has to be Flash Chop. Absorbs projectiles, turns on hit, every throw has a front and behind version. Might be the key to his grappling diversity.

/speculation

Already got my fight money saved up to hyper bomb some bitches.

Lol. Big thing and they did a super ultra basic tutorial, that only applies to Ryu at that. ~3~

Isn’t Woshige at Capcom now? Use that ArcSys knowledge to translate Xrd’s tutorial mode over to SFV!

What do you mean with: “only applies to ryu” ?

Blocking low/high as well as moving and light to hard attacks do not only apply to ryu.

I really hope Balrog is a command character, I want to have a reason to mostly dislike this game past Karin and her stupid easy confirms and damage.

Mostly I hope that he drops Shadoloo at the end of this story and goes to being legit, probably open up a gym and work on being a better person. It really sucks that they keep pushing the black dude as this money obsessed unintelligent, scheming bruiser.

I mean, they fixed TJ combo right?

Alex’s V-Skill will probably be his head butt grab.

Of course he’s going to join Gill’s side and spreading the word of his lord and savior. Oh and he’s going to change his name to james , plus start his own soul band. Now if think I’m being serious i have a bridge i would like to sell you

What is the point of bringing back “favorites” if they feel like completely different characters altogether? “From scratch” implies that while they might conceptually share similarities, they will still be fundamentally different.

Different as
USF4 Sim is to SFV Sim
USF4 Bison to SFV Bison
USF4 Ken to SFV Ken

Still the same character but with tweaks that make them feel new.

3S Ryu didnt feel like SF4 Ryu, nor did ST Ryu.

Capcom ALWAYS did this.
This time they advertise it and suddenly we lose our minds

Starting from scratch is not the same as modifying an already existing character. Maybe it’s just a translation issue.

Dhalsim doesn’t feel like a character that was created from scratch in this game either. He’s heavily modified yes, but it still feels like Dhalsim. Just like SF2, Alpha, SF3, SF4 and SF5 Ryu feels like “Ryu”.

What does that even mean?
How would it even feel if he was created from scratch?

It’s still Dhalsim of course… are you worried that they give Alex a hadoken and an uppercut or what?

For me, Dhalsim feels fundamentally different with his arcing fireballs alone. Doesnt feel like a previous dhalsim at all but it’s still Sim.

In my understanding they threw away what Dhalsim was in SF4 and “started from scratch”, which resulted in him having the arc fireball and an airborne flame. Not him being a piledriving rushdown character

They are not starting from scratch literally because the character’s concept and identity is still very much intact. The gameplay evolves and adapts to the game and the times. Characters always played different from game to game. SF5 may be taking bolder steps when it comes to character redesigns (after 20+ years) but make no mistake, this is all normal and expected.

If Balrog becomes a QCF character everything is RUINED

Im actually looking forward to him potentially being a motion character…

Go play Dudley and leave us be.

Dash Straight gonna get gimped if he becomes QCF.
