Not to mention unrealistic AI that counters damn near everything you do if you fight normally, but then loses to one or two specific moves that humans would probably adapt to quickly.
V-skill has to be Flash Chop. Absorbs projectiles, turns on hit, every throw has a front and behind version. Might be the key to his grappling diversity.
I really hope Balrog is a command character, I want to have a reason to mostly dislike this game past Karin and her stupid easy confirms and damage.
Mostly I hope that he drops Shadoloo at the end of this story and goes to being legit, probably open up a gym and work on being a better person. It really sucks that they keep pushing the black dude as this money obsessed unintelligent, scheming bruiser.
Of course he’s going to join Gill’s side and spreading the word of his lord and savior. Oh and he’s going to change his name to james , plus start his own soul band. Now if think I’m being serious i have a bridge i would like to sell you
What is the point of bringing back “favorites” if they feel like completely different characters altogether? “From scratch” implies that while they might conceptually share similarities, they will still be fundamentally different.
Starting from scratch is not the same as modifying an already existing character. Maybe it’s just a translation issue.
Dhalsim doesn’t feel like a character that was created from scratch in this game either. He’s heavily modified yes, but it still feels like Dhalsim. Just like SF2, Alpha, SF3, SF4 and SF5 Ryu feels like “Ryu”.
What does that even mean?
How would it even feel if he was created from scratch?
It’s still Dhalsim of course… are you worried that they give Alex a hadoken and an uppercut or what?
For me, Dhalsim feels fundamentally different with his arcing fireballs alone. Doesnt feel like a previous dhalsim at all but it’s still Sim.
In my understanding they threw away what Dhalsim was in SF4 and “started from scratch”, which resulted in him having the arc fireball and an airborne flame. Not him being a piledriving rushdown character
They are not starting from scratch literally because the character’s concept and identity is still very much intact. The gameplay evolves and adapts to the game and the times. Characters always played different from game to game. SF5 may be taking bolder steps when it comes to character redesigns (after 20+ years) but make no mistake, this is all normal and expected.
