yeah, character specific, unless they move into it, then it pretty much works on everyone (non counter)
gief, bison, abel, sagat, rufus, sim, gouken, i think thats it

Yeah that’s what I found out last night when I went through the roster to test it out. Only diffrence is that I couldn’t do it on Gouken and instead I could do it on Fei Long which I though was wierd. It wasn’t consistent at all with Fei Long though but I definitely did it at least 3 times.
Not sure if it’s a combo, but you can jump in (late) mp > cr. mp ----> my favourite 2 hit beat-down (pretty decent range and damage)!
against Gief, if he does either the normal green hand or the ex green hand (and they whiff), you can land 2 S HP’s and the first punch doesn’t have to be a counter hit…
I think this is due to his massive hit box…i can’t do this against smaller opponents though
Can someone explain plinking to me? I saw it mentioned in the old combo thread and wanted to get some insight on it so I can see if it will help my links be more consistent.
Thanks…
it’s weird ya know…i didn’t know about the whole “plinking” term for a while…i just kinda picked it up by accident whilst using sakura one time. it’s such a handy tool and without knowing it you will struggle with your consistency with some links/combos.
Odd thing about me and plinking:
When I’m practising my 1 framers, I use plinking. When I actually play against people, I just press the button once. The successful consistency is about the same. lol
On the plinking note, does anyone know what double tapping is? I’ve been trying to plink for a whole and get it with some consistency, but I’ve never really figured out what double tapping is.
Double tapping is another method to try and get the one framers down. As the name implies, you’re simply double tapping the button you want to press for the combo.
For example, you can try cr.lp --> (double tap) cr.mp. I usually double tap for the s.hp combos, seems to work fairly well.
double tapping is like strumming. you use two fingers for one button, you kinda scratch the button with the first finger and bring down the second. This must be done very quickly to be effective. i don’t use double tapping because plinking was easier for me to learn.
Double tapping doesn’t work the same was as p-linking (in the game engine). For SFIV, p-linking is king; save your double-tapping for older iterations of the franchise.
What about double tap p-linking with 4 fingers? lol
without question
lol godlike
Figure I’d post this, since nobody ever made a vid(that I know of).
Guile’s j.HK > Ultra:

It was damn hard figuring out the timing for it >_>
Wow, suger_shock?
is it possible for arcade machine?
Since the p-linking subject was brought up…
Would you (anyone who could answer) say that p-linking is better than double tapping with Guile?
I’ve tried both. P-linking feels strange when finishing off a combo. I either get a EX SB or nothing. When I double tap, I’m able to finish off the combo but I’m not able to do a combo as often as I do it when p-linking.
Say with p-linking I’ll be able to pull off c.jab x2, c.strong 10/10.
Double tapping, I’ll pull off the same combo maybe 7/10. But I’m able to finish with regular SB and it’s easier to FADC, IMO.
i still dont quite get the p-link method. i kind of understand the concept but ive never seen it in use.is there any guile specific p-link vids out there anyone? i am more of a visual learner i guess:sweat: lol
Humanly possible? No.
Possible within the game? I don’t see why not…
