Guile Combo Thread: Flash Kick FADC *shades*!

QUESTION can you cross up with j.fk on corner on every character? I always forget this.

You can, it’s just, not a very good idea to try it. They have to really be hugging that corner for it to work, otherwise you’ll whiff and probably get stomped for it.

It’s not j.fk. Only ‘fierce’ button is fierce punch. You can call the strongest kick button roundhouse or heavy kick but not fierce kick. FK = Flash Kick.

Yeah it works on everyone, but only if they’re completely in the corner so they can actually dodge you crossup and punish you just by blocking crossup, which is exactly what they’re going to be doing. So it’s only really useful on their wakeup.

new (at least new to me) corner combo:

deep j.hk/j.hp > s.hp > jab boom > step forward > s.fierce > s.fierce

416 dmg / 700 stun - meter free

Seems to work on everyone that is susceptible to far fierce * 2. Be sure not to walk back before the first fierce. You do not need to walk forward against some characters, but it makes it easier.

man, it is damn sad how when I first read info about guile on the internet, the description for his attributes said that his combos deal a lot of damage. Yes the page was correct, but those combos, rarely happen, it is very difficult to have that opportunity or that opening on the corner to start a reverse spining kick, besides being extremely dificult to land the s.hp(close) and combo-ing to something else. If it is not on the corner, I think you are better off with BnB.

take s.hp>FK, i can do this consistently after a focus attack crumple, but when someone wiffs a shoriuken, the distance is not the exact one for this awesome punishment., on the other hand, Ryu can always land his f.hp>shoriuken that deals very decent damage and any 4 year old girl can do with alot of frame advantages
i hope guile has better options to combo in the next ssf4

ya, f that event hubs strengths list thingee. i complained about that strength a long time ago, im not sure why you would say combo damage is one of guiles strengths.

although honestly I guess a 4 year old girl couldn’t pull his f.hp > c.hp link off consistently. It’s a one framer, but I get hit with it on a pretty consistent basis. I feel so good when I land a crumple > UDK combo > sweep in the corner… but that’s not near as demoralizing as eating crumple > f.hp > c.hp xx EX tatsu > Ultra. :wasted:

LOL, thx for adding that to that combo, maybe the ryu player I face doest know about this or doesnt want to risk it, I wont tell him, he is very good with 1 frame links, I dont wanna give him more advice on how to fuck me more. My point is, yes GUILE needs to have a corner every 4 steps in the stage while others dont. SUCKS

That’s exactly my issue with Guile as the game gets more mature - we work really hard for a combo full of one frame links that does little damage whereas the top tier characters rip open the smallest hole with MASSIVE damage.

… if an opponent whiffs something against me and I’m not charged, I may be able to get close enough to TRY landing a 1-frame link normal combo (which may or may not work). But if I make a mistake against almost every other character, I could seriously lose the match to some crazy b.s. juggle combo into ultra. F*cking hell they need to do something about this for SSF4…

I’m with you guys 100%. If they gave Guile even a little bit of attention to detail then he would be a beast. I already win with him and he has all these shity flaws so I can’t imagine what I’d do if he was made a little more user friendly like a lot of the other characters.

Question guys!!! Has anyone ever cmobo’d 2 C.MP in a row??? I did it yesterday while playing and was wondering if there was a way to do it consistently… If anyone wants to see it just let me know and I’ll put a link to the vid of the match I did it in. Please shed some light on this Gilley.

you can combo 2 cr.mp on counter hit, and i think if you meaty somebody on wakeup you can combo 2.

on normal hit its +2 on hit

Guile doesn’t need to be “more user friendly”; he needs options for applying pressure while moving forward that build meter and improvements on the punishment front. Capcom simply underestimated how easily FADC and links would end up being used by the now high-tier characters and that’s really at the core of the issue. It should be noted that Guile isn’t the only character suffering from this.

I agree. I wasn’t saying “user friendly” to say that Guile needs to be easier to play with or anything like that. He just needs more options like you said.

Can anyone shed some light on the S.FP>S.FP? I was trying to do it in training but couldn’t get it down. Is it character specific?

It has to be on counter hit.

I saw a video of it being done on counter hit so I know you’re right on that one. In Gilley’s combo video [media=youtube]lato8FmMoIQ"[/media] there are 2 combos that he does against Bison where his does the S.FP>S.FP.

I believe these are the two combos…

**1)Jump in cross up LK>C.LP>S.LP>S.FP>S.FP **

2)FACrumple>DashForward>ReverseSpinKick>C.MP>LP.Boom>FADC>DashForward>S.FP>S.FP

I hadn’t got a chance to check it out in training so I’l probably do that later on tonight but I was wondering if it was charcter specific. If nobody knows then I’ll just go through the roster and put the results up when I find them.
