Guile Combo Thread: Flash Kick FADC *shades*!

Usually before I play online I go through the tials w/ Guile as like a warm up and I noticed something about Guiles 3rd Normal Trial 4th combo which is (C.MP>Cancel Super/Double Flash Kick) and his last Hard Trial which is (C.LK>C.LK>C.LP> Cancel Super/Double Flash Kick>Ultra/Flash Explosion…

In order to do the C.MP into the Double Flash Kick Super I use a motion on my stick that looks like this… DownBack>Down>ForwardDown>Down>DownBack+ C.MP>Back>UpBack+Kick. Basically I insert the C.MP into the Reverse Tiger Knee motion so it comes out smoother. My question is, why doesn’t this work for the last Hard Trial the same way it does the Normal trial? I usually do the same motion except add in the 2 C.LK and hit the C.LP at DownBack just like I do on the other trial but it doesnt work. Instead I have to do the 2C.LK’s>C.LP and the Reverse Tiger Knee Motion really fast. If anyone can give some info that would be great.

hello gilley, I would like to know how exactly do you perform c.lp>c.lp>c.mp>sb>fadc. a and repeat this. does it have to be in corner?

I usually keep my self to bnb but I am up to move to the next level, the part that is not working for me is getting boom out of c.mp, I get it out to late and does not combo. When you perform the boom sequence, do you boom on your way back or forward? which boom are you using?

In this game, you cannot cancel chains into moves.
meaning, if you do c.jab, c.jab consecutively, you cannot cancel that last jab into any move.

you have to link the super.

so it would be like, c.lk, c.lk, c.lp, ~ lk super,Ultra

just wait a second or so after the c.lp before inputting the super.

There’s a video on Gilley’s youtube channel (gilleybaba) which shows his pre-charging technique (in short, press punch on the back input).

The only boom you should use up close is lp (check the frame data for reasoning), but from further away, you’ll need to adjust if you want the hit (again, check the frame data and pay attention to the hit-stun).

Boom loops only work in the corner due to knock-back (AFAIK).

Hey Gilley. Since you’re doing a new combo vid do you think you could try a combo suggestion I have. It’s J.HP>C.MP>ExBoom>FocusCancel(Crumple)Dash>ReverseSpin Kick(Meaty like you explained in the video thread)>S.HP>LpBoom>StandingFierce… It has to be done in the corner of course.

I’ve bee messing around with it in training mode after I saw the video of the guy using a meaty reverese spin kick to hit the standing fierce. I know you of all people would probably be able to test it correctly. Is this combo even possible? I hadn’t looked at the frame data to confirm it yet.

That’s a pretty basic combo with no real need for a video (well, two basic combos linked with an ex cancel).

Oh, yes, it works, but b.hk s.hp lp.sb s.hp won’t connect on every character. There are many substitutions which will work though.

You should do a cr.hk instead of the last s.hp. It’s like three damage less after scaling and then you get the knockdown.

The b.hk only hits meaty on some characters on a crumple, like shotos, viper, chun, and sim.

thanks, this clears some things, I know the pre-charging tech, but my question is, do you have to do precharging when looping in the corner? right now I am having difficulty from going from (c.mp, fierce boom, to fadc) i try plinking the c.mp, and most of the time I get a third jab that combos into boom :razz:

hmmm, double tapping works good for me it seems, I still need to improve my timing. Yesterday I was watching (guilleybaba) videos and I seem to be able do half of them except for a couple that are insane. lol. I loved the combo he does on sagat in the corner that finishes with target combo from far away, somehow it looks so painful.

I would like to see super off high.kick I think gilley mentioned it was possible in the corner.

How many of you have been able to pull off ultra from a lk.fk in a real fight? I have only done it ONE TIME. I felt like entering NIRVANA and left the match idle to brag over MSN with my ryu matchup. lol

I don’t do it often, really, because the situation just never comes up. It’s also horrible damage, I’d almost rather just save for the one instance I actually land an FA or they fuck up badly.

Yeah, it is rare and wonderful, I have landed it maybe 5 times (against that special kind of awful opponent that just seems to be doing their own thing, not caring about my charge or spacing).

I tend to reserve Ultra for punish. Like Honda doing HHS from a bit too far, after hit and pushback, Ultra (don’t know if this is a guaranteed, just did it last night and it was excellent). But again, it is more based on them fucking up and dictating my use. I am getting pretty comfortable using it as a counter ultra if they throw out a wake up against a spaced lp.boom. But, once again, it takes a special kind of opponent.

I’m trying to take my combo game up to the next level with Guile. His my main, of course, and I really want to start stringing together some combos that will make my opponents lose some moral. Any suggestions guys?

Sadly Guile doesn’t have many of those. Except for like, in the corner, j.rh > s.fp xx jab boom > s.fp again.

I can already do that combo. It’s not that difficult. I was trying to find some combos that are intermidiate to hard in difficulty so I can expand my game with them.

The most damaging combo Guile has is s.fp xx mk.super > ultra (mk super for spacing issues).

Outside of that there’s any combo that involves the b.rh > c.mp 1 frame link.

They were discussed about a page ago, things like FA2 > b.rh > c.mp xx sonic boom (s.fp can replace c.mp in certain cases).

Guile’s not really a combo-monster like Ryu / Akuma / Gen etc. More intricate combos of his do pitifully low damage due to scaling.

I understand what you mean. I didn’t know Guile could do his standing fierce into his super. I only thought the s.fierce into the flash kick was legit but I guess it makes sense… Thanks for the feedback

The far s.hp can cancel into super also.
