Mesmer hit 80 last night. Crafted the rare set and will be going for the AC exotic sword. Currently sitting at 300ish tokens right now. 60 tokens per route makes this dungeon a little more tolerable.

i wish scoring in spvp encouraged defending your points more. i was the only guy defending a point in a pretty close game of spvp, won 3 1v1s in a row from people trying to sneak away from the zerg and capture it, and got a score of like 90 when everyone else got 200s and stuff 
Too many games with competitive team/squad based modes suffer from this unfortunately. Sometimes playing “wrong” is encouraged by the game simply because it gives more points/currency used to obtain items which really takes away from the experience while playing right (defending what needs to be defended, playing support, etc) is often not rewarded equally or not rewarded at all.
What are some of the best looking Short Bows and Great Swords in the game?
The crafted exotics are ugly as fuck. Same goes for the crafted exotic medium armor set too. I see what you’re doing ArenaNet. Make the crafted gear the worst looking equipment in the game so people will want to buy your fine transmutation stones.
The Norn cultural armor looks nice, but they’re a huge money sink. Why aren’t they Karma? WTF.
I’m really just looking for armor that makes my toon look like a slut from Tera Online.

Yeah level 60 set looks better than the shitty level 80 rare set.

It does but I am using everything except the shoulders and the hood. Gloves, chest, legs and boots are winged.

so i made a mesmer and took it to spvp to check out what their later skills are like. i didnt know anything about how to build or even play one so i threw together something that looked like it would work and joined some games.
all i gotta say is holy shit this class is retarded. i was always “on a rampage” or the top scorer and i have played mesmer for literally 3 levels. its like…perfect for the chaotic “follow the zerg” nature of spvp. i did greatsword and staff and a lot of the time my phantasmal berserker would do something like…2k crit 3k crit, and right after that my phantasmal warlock would be like…5k crit and something would die because it wasn’t at full hp. if something tried to get in on me i would drop a chaos storm and stand in it, and if that wasn’t enough deterrent i have a backdash, chaos armor, a stun breaker, mass condition removal, and TWO stealths (one traited). its not like i cant die but the amount of stalling i can do for something with that much dps is silly.
im getting my mesmer to 80. havent had so much brainless fun in a long time.
My brother has a mesmer and they have a good amount of stupid stuff. Moa is pretty much a free kill when you land it. Taking the sword for the flurry where you evade all attacks during it, is very good and is best used at the end of combos right before weapon swapping. On the treb map, they can basically teleport the repair kit instantly and repair the treb if they wanted too, making them the best on treb imo. Though to make it easier to kill a mesmer, a smart player would mark the real one, you can stealth so they have to re-mark you, but it’s one of those things where people need to fight the matchup to learn better.
But you are gonna be disappointed in pve though, they are pretty boring as fuck imo.
yup no different from gw1, mesmers were boring in pve and but a force in pvp. even more so in this game, they are crazy good.
Crating not so much any more, the good and bad thing with the crafting in this game is that it’s just so damn easy - look at it compared to say FFXI crafting and it just feels more like a minigame. I really think the intention was to give everyone the ability to potentially make their own equipment, that’s certainly what I’ve been doing with it and that’s nice, not having to pay for your gear and just making it as you level on scraps you find is excellent. The downside is it makes very little money unless you’re gathering the majority of materials yourself - salvage higher level blues/greens for Oric etc.
You can make decent coin by playing the TP stock market game, buy low sell high, made a packet from dyes before they completely tanked in price, bought lots of Abyss at 3g too and sold them at 5 or 6 a piece depending on market price at the time.
There’s a bug right now that lets human light armor users get completely nude lol.
