i honestly cant see why people were expecting/wanting SSF4 to be released as DLC instead of a disc based game.
theres talk of the cost for a start, could u imagine any games company (esp capcom)giving 8 extra characters new stages/music/gameplay tweaks etc for around 20-30dollars??? dont be crazy! i think 30dollars for all that would be the steal of the century personally provided theyre all balanced characters and whatnot. you would easily be looking at 35 dollars for the lot to DL.
and if your spending 35 dollars on a premium download. hell why not just spend an extra 10bucks and get it in a brand new case, nice shiny manual, and on a physical medium than data on a drive. last time i checked you couldnt resell data on a drive (not that im saying many of you will, but still its nice to get something back in the end)
plus being a seperate disc game would help stop any issues of incompatability with un-updated versions i know somebody said that a forced download would alleviate this but how would that effect things like tweaked moves for all the characters? surely the game couldnt switch back and forth between old moveset and new moveset when the player switches between online and offline play. giving people the tweaked moveset for free is in essence giving them half the game for free if the moveset gets updated.
but yea this isnt meant to be some kind of flame bait post or anything as SSF4 is a day one buy for me (even though being in the UK i know ill be paying a damn site more than a lot of you here for a copy)
it just confuses me as to why people EVER expected this to be DLC is all.

Everyone in the world bitches and moans because this and that aren’t DLC. Everything ever made should be released as DLC. If a company sells something that you can buy and put on the shelf in your family room for the rest of your life it’s a ripoff.
Yet when the new DLC-only PSPgo was released, nobody bought it, and everyone bitched because they can’t play their old non-DLC games.

Can’t believe the garbage some people in this thread are spewing against books just to justify their love for video games.
I mean, I play games and enjoy them too. But I’m not naive enough to think there’s anything more to videogames than mindless entertainment. You just can’t say the same about books, regardless of genre (Fiction or Scholarly article).
TV programming greatly varies so no point bringing that into the discussion.

The additions to SSF4 are worthy of DLC and nothing more.
the guy is an assuming idiot given I only got SF4 for the PC in august and am on the verge of dropping it because its so difficult to get lag free games.
The only reason why I am still playing SF4 is because of the new version coming out.
So without SSF4 (mainly DJ) I would have about 8 weeks worth of play from SF4, because the netcode is a joke, the game has some really unbalanced mathups and there is way too much emphasis on SUPERS and ULTRAS to the point where its hard to take the game seriously coming from Super Turbo,where you had to work a lot harder for your wins, now you can bust your ass for 60 seconds, make one tiny mistake and its game over.
Plus they broke Guile and they didn’t include DJ. Included rubbish like seth, did stupid things to sagat. The game feels like a lottery a lot of the time.
There are plenty of reasons to whine.
My advice is sell SF4.
Use a no cd thing (its not illegal to use a no cd tool as its my choice)
And then you’ll only lose a few dollars, which will be about the price of DLC, which is all SSF4 is going to be worth.
Plus I already spent over 200 dollars on a joystick JUST FOR THIS GAME.

you know what capcom should do to stop people complaining that this isnt DLC? release it as DLC AND on disc (for the same price) and then all those people who want it as DLC can have it as DLC, waste a shitload of HD space, and then complain when Super Mega Streetfighter 4 is released because they cant resell their copy and get money back for it.
