I just finished watching the film…well I’m not normally a fan of comic book movies since the creative changes tend to ruin 99.9% of the quality but I think GOTG is the rare % that’s actually good. I’m internally debating which marvel movie I enjoy more between this,winter soilder and iron man 1 but it’s definitely in the top 3. The few negatives I have are with the changed origins and extremely nerfed interpretations…but aside from that it seems like marvel studios is finally producing quality films after what was initially a very poor start to the second wave.

The rest are really “meh” or bad IMO.
When you compare the good marvel movies with the bad ones it almost makes you wonder how the bad ones were produced by the same studio.
At the end of the day, I’m kinda fine with the “nerfed” interpretations since it helps make the film feel less like a superhero movie and more of a space opera.
EDIT: In any case, modern Drax only really started getting really strong when he started getting close to Thanos.
Thoughts: Helluva fun film. A lot of good humor. Good fight scenes too. Also neat music. I thought Ronan could’ve done more though, he didn’t get to do enough. Drax could’ve gotten more awesomeness too, I felt he was underused. Overall, pretty good stuff.
This movie was too good, needing that bluray like right now.
Only gripe about it was that Ronan couldve been used better, i really wanted to see more of him. Rockin that face paint like a boss.
Also I’d hoped for some Nova, but they wanted to focus on the Corps I guess.
Isn’t drax able to fly in space and isn’t he class 100 in strength?
I’m fairly certain gamora is like above class 10 in strength considering she did beat the accuser and can hurt thing and she hulk.
Edit: Upon further review I’d still fuck nebula…no regrets or shame.
James Gunn hates the Nova character, so there is not necessarily a good chance of Nova showing up.

This actually makes sense now…I was wondering why the current drax seemed so weak in the GOTG comic.
Nova, Adam Warlock, and Marv-Ell need to be in the next round.
I would not mind somebody like NPH to play Adam Warlock.
I still want an Annihilators(A.K.A. the real guardians of the galaxy, team OP, bad motherfuckers supreme) movie even though it will never happen.
It already has three marks against it with this movie and the Fox rights debacle.
The only one of them that stands a chance is Beta Ray Bill(coincidentally in my top 5 favorite Marvel characters), who’s story can easily be a Thor sequel. My dick moistens at the thought of two hours of Beta Ray Bill beating the shit out of Thor until he sees the errors of his ways and they become bros.
yeah, John Favreau had issues adding characters to his movies too…look how well that worked for him.
Adam has to show up, I don’t think it’s possible to properly do Infinity Gauntlet without him. And the explosion on the Collector’s ship probably freed him.
I am hoping the next GotG movie showcases him, Nova, possibly Captain Marvel, and finally, more of the Elder’s of the Universe.
Oh, and Howard.
Oh I still get to laugh at it. I was thrilled they called that entire thing Sanctuary (it would be gay if it was just Thanos tooting around on his throne only). But really, his arm rest is just a rock with thrusters on it. What’s stopping it from flying into space when he scratches his purple ass? Seriously, I just can’t stop laughing everytime I see his rocket La-Z-Boy.
Yeah, that all makes sense to me. I still think changing the colours was a dumb thing to do. Especially since they really didn’t do it with the other gems.
So I am guessing Avengers 2 will officially bring around the Mind gem, GotG will bring around Adam Warlock and the Soul gem. Curious how they’re going to utilize the Time Gem, and which movie they could use to release it (Doctor Strange?).

well, if they don’t move on Fantastic Four soon, the rights revert back to Marvel, similar to Daredevil. That would free up the Silver Surfer and proper Galactus.
