Thinking of watching it today in IMAX 3D. I haven’t seen all that much advertised for film, it’s August all the kids are off school yet all the screenings seem empty (maybe everyone is on holiday), it’s concerning.
Might as well splurge on the 3D. Even if it wasn’t shot in 3D (no idea either way), the scale of it lends itself to viewing it that way.
Probably gonna check it out tomorrow night.
I might go see this movie. I can get a free ticket, so why not? I don’t really know anything about this comic aside from Rocket Raccoon, and I only know about him through MvC3.
Just saw it a while ago. I think it was good and the whole cinema was clapping their hands during the credits. It is true that groot and rocket almost stole it but for me it was bautista. First time I watched him in a movie and was really surprised.
For those who are still wondering what brolin looks like as thanos. Wonder not because he looks so good.
As for the end credits I just took it as a joke anyway.

Just came back from watching it, I don’t think you will be missing much if you watch it in 2D, there are only a handful of scenes that will make you appreciate the 3D-ness.
I don’t know if it’s the best Marvel movie, if people still think Avengers is the best marvel movie then yeh it’s better than that.
Lots of laughs to be had in the movie, the emotional scenes felt kinda cheesily acted at times, but some were really well done, first 5 minutes with the mum, and then Rocket’s scene at the end of the movie.
People that have no idea about these characters (ie me) might have a hard time following who is who and in it for what reasons, so many different races (the KKK won’t like this movie so much interracial mixing), everyone is a humanoid, or just plain human in appearance. I shouldn’t have been but I started wondering, how come they haven’t made proper contact with Earth.
Got bored during the space chase scenes, they weren’t shit, I just lose interest when things turn into a huge CGI slugfest with nothing that is visually stimulating. The final battle was very cool though.

I didn’t understand why they were trying to kill each other, I thought they both wanted Thanos dead?
I know the lady that was lead makeup artist on the movie, I was really impressed with some of the looks. Bautista looked pretty badass.
Overall an enjoyable movie, very funny, brilliant soundtrack, the message about family & friendship was rather heavy handed.
Rocket stole the show for me.
B grade.
Re. Post credits scene
I’m not sure how many people the UK even know who that is, I vaguely remember there being a movie, but I think people just found the scene laugh out loud bizarre.

I saw it last night in 3D, while there where a couple fancy 3D scenes, there were many scenes which were actually worse in 3D. I would recommend the normal version, you won’t miss anything.
But yea, theres a lot of shit that gets introduced into this movie not mentioned from previous marvel movies, so you might wanna do some research to get a better understanding.
Just did, why is Quill’s origin completely different in the movie??
