They could definitely recreate Wakanda, I just have no faith in them doing Black Panther correctly. That’s not a knock against Marvel, I just don’t trust anyone with him because he’s tricky to accurately cast for and build around.
And it’s still easier to do things in animated form. It’s not just as simple as writing him.

The casting is on part with storm…and again gamora is basically a space amazon sex kitten. Zoe can’t sell the visual and as such the portrayal is hurt…looks do factor in otherwise Thor could be played by a old man.

lemme explain how this works:
Zoe has experience doing the type of movie they filmed. CGI heavy, characters wearing mech suits just to preform, action sequences, wearing makeup all damn day, etc. Her looks, while still fucking sexy, were not the most important talent she had going for her, when going for this role. News Flash: Karen Gillan doesn’t look like Nebula either. I remember Nebula having hair, for instance. I could also give two shits less. When you’re dealing with crazy space aliens rather than humans, you don’t need 101% accuracy.

Anyways going back to the actual point, I’m not talking about the experience she brings to the role because clearly if acting is all that matters then Thor would be played by Anthony Hopkins. I’m talking about how she isn’t a good casting choice because gamora is for all intents and purposes a sexy space amazon so being played by the relatively pencil thin Zoe just doesn’t fit. People complained about the casting for WW for similar reasons so clearly physical resemblance does have some relevance.
I’m not saying she isn’t a good actress but I’m just saying that in terms of capturing the look and tone of gamora…she doesn’t work because she looks nothing like her. This isn’t a point anyway can argue unless they want to completely revision what gamora looks like in the comics.
yet again, more than acting. Anthony Hopkins sure as fuck isn’t getting into fist/hammer fights with Tom Hiddleston. Zoe is there because she is more than just a pretty face, and an actress.

Even non-geeks know who Wonder Woman is.
There are grannies out there, who’ve never picked up a comic book ever, who know who Wonder Woman is.
Put it this way: before this movie was announced, I had no idea who the fuck Gamora was.

Stating that Zoe does not look like gamora is not a opinion or preference it’s a simple reflection of very visible facts. Gamora is a curvy muscular space amazon…Zoe does not have this body type which I’m sure even she would admit. If you want to believe her acting can compensate for her lack of looks then fine go ahead but don’t try to revision shit and make it seem like they are identical twins or that gamora has never looked that way.
