I never played SA. I thought things could never get better than vice city so I didnt bother. for shame.
Yeah, I never beat GTA IV, but it is a good game. The controls just seemed horrible compared to the ps2 predecessors.
Anybody else have this problem nowadays? I talked to my friend about this awhile ago, there are just too many damn good games nowadays. I just beat skyrim ffs, and RE6, Halo4, TT2, DOA4, Borderlands 2, and all these other crazy good games are out. I swear to god I am going to beat gta4 one day, but yeah…
Interesting that there’s pretty much a team of characters instead of just one protagonist (if one can even consider a GTA lead a “protagonist”), hopefully the differences between them are fun but don’t pigeon hole you too much into HAVING to use a certain guy in a specific scenario.
First thing that struck me in the GI article was the fact that the combat will once again (and hopefully more effectively) be improved. After playing Max Payne 3, I feel like it should use a modified version of that. Obviously no bullet time but the general way it works could really make for good gunfights in the GTA universe. Also, is there any doubt that hand to hand will have to be done like Arkham City? Can we agree that’s pretty much the standard? The guys probably shouldn’t be as capable as say, Batman, but I think that aspect alone would make the procedural fun/content in V way more fun than previous games.
Basically, a good sandbox requires good tools. As long as Rockstar gives me the right tools to to have the most fun, I’m good. The other shit, whether I can be ripped or fat or can take bitches on dates makes no difference to me.
And obviously you didn’t play the expansions. Those characters were infinitely more interesting and “hype” than Niko. Also the hyper realism brought the ragdoll physics which is way more satisfying than anything the previous GTAs could muster up.
Rockstar said each generation are in their own universe. Gta3/4/5. Well I don’t think they were clear about 4-5 but they definitely said gta3 characters are like mythical characters to 4/5 reality. They see them being in different dimensions
They were explaining this while talking about why they aren’t using A list actors for this game, they said it takes away from the uniqueness of the characters, for obvious reasons.
If you think the reason they havent used A-listers is anything other than saving money, you’re wacked. I read the article, and I know what they said, its complete BS to justify not doing it.
Tommy Vercetti alone had more personality than the entire GTAIV game.
I was one of the 675534565343 disappointed day 1 buyers of GTAIV, and couldnt finish it. Still picking this up. Hopefully online free roam has more customization for the character, or even create-a-guys. And while I could drive well in the game, Id rather driving be much better, cars handled like boats, and you had to move the camera to turn.
honestly bro i tried so hard to even get past 10 hours in that game. i tried so hard you dont even understand. i wanted to like gta 4. gta 3, vc, sa were definitely my favorite ps2 games of all time
just the speed of movement and the shitty realism just made me so sad. i wish i could run fast, i wish the shooting wasnt so clunky…just ugh
i dont even care if its like strictly old mechanics…just make it playable. make niko run fast for goodness sake. make me be able to cap like 6 motherfuckers quickly in succession.
niko wasnt the best… but honestly it really wasnt bad. the story and characters were like u know, passable. i could move past these things. its the gameplay that literally never satisfied me at all.
Characters are very likable. And by likable, I mean I feel like they’re never going to be that boring. But it seems like, in true GTA fashion, the supporting characters will provide a lot of the comedy relief. I know it’s unlikely but can we get Packie in this scenario. He was the best character in 4 by FAR.
