Wesker, still a great anchor, dante allows for mid combo level two incase you drop it, and if you BARELY don’t have enough meter to THC, you can call in Wesker for OTG, launch C, S into THC with dante for free level 5.
Just be careful cause Wesker WILL ruin your THC for free level 5 if you have more then one meter. I run dante with Weasel shot. Makes combo into camera extend and makes your level two roll a lot better with dante assist.
Edit: Has anyone else been using the L3 ground bounce to set up a reset into Frank’s AA grab? Similar to how She Hulk used to? I’ve been ending combos with ground bounce, doing A and then backing up a little bit and doing AA grab. So far, as long as they don’t dash up or tech forward, it will hit. And if they tech forward and I can read it, I can just backdash then do it. And if I have another meter I can just make it safe with Dante DHC devil trigger.
Ok so my team is Dante/Frank/Doom. Anyone wanna help me out with some good Dante TAC into Frank combos? (the higher the level the better) So of course we got have the simple Dante BnB into super----> DHC frank shopping cart -----> x-factor ----> snapshot: this gets me level 4, pretty nice but I would definitely rather save my x-factor instead of using it primarily to level Frank up.
Next up we got Dante: (Standard Dante Bnb) St. A B C 6C Bold Cancel 623B Jump C 236B Air C, Stand S xx HHH xx S, Neutral Super Jump, j. H, TAC up into Frank, j. M, j. H, j. tools of survival L, j. M, j.S, snap shot, super
This one gets me lvl. 3 Frank.
Any better ones that start out with Dante? Suggestions are mighty appreciated.
As pf now, I’ve been using Deadpool and Taskmaster to back up Frank. A THC with the two of them puts Frank at level 4 and isn’t too difficult to combo off of. Also, you can reset with Deadpool and TAC into Frank for a THC, if the situation requires it.
I personally don’t like having frank 2nd or third. I like putting him on point, and a lot of people have disagreed with me on this. But he doesn’t have bad normals, his c.b is really good for out footsing people, his jump s at the beginning is a great jump in tool and his zombie throw is alright for people who don’t have good fireballs and like to push buttons. His only real problem at level 1 is keep away, because once people try and rush me down it’s not too hard to find the gap in their plan and poke right through it (except Zero).
And no matter what, first hit means I get level 5 frank. Also, level 5 frank with Wesker assist is a REALLY good unblockable set up that leads to full combo.
guys, having dante first and frank second may be the BEST POSSIBLE way for frank to get into level 5 really fast
if you do dante’s million dollars super from midscreen or anywhere that pushes the opponent away from you, you can dhc before the last hit asap into the pie super, and take a camera picture for easy level 5, assuming you know how to do dante combos
an example would be midscreen stuff into stinger, bold canceling that into qcf S into million dollars
you recover from the pie super fast enough to snap a pic while they are in spinning motion
First, regarding Tron, if you DHC into Tools of Survival as soon as the Lunch Rush bullet connects, Frank can get three pictures in during the stampede of servbots (the first picture should be taken right as the opponent hits the ground, just before the Servbots get there). The only problem here is whether Tron will end up usable at all what with the general increases in hitstun deterioration and with specific nerfs to some of her stuff.
With Storm, if you do Hail Storm too close, Tools of Survival actually hits, rendering the whole situation useless for leveling. When done from further away, Tools of Survival will whiff, but Frank can only get one picture in before the Hail Storm ends. I imagine that Rekkoha has the same problems, except I would think you can’t actually do it from far enough away for the DHC into Tools of Survival to whiff.
FINALLY have a team. Not sure how long I’ll stick with it, but right now its:
Frank (Cart)/ Taskmaster (Aim L)/ Dormammu(Dark Hole)
Looks pretty synergystic on paper. Frank gets plenty of use from dark hole as a combo extender, and Tasky arrows to help get that first hit in. Tasky arrows also help out roll mixup. Whenever I tag or DHC frank out, Task can use the shopping cart assist for rushdown, and dark hole for lockdown/combo extensions. Dormammu can also use cart in teleport mixups and arrows for zoning help. High level frank or dormammu make for solid anchors.
Might try to switch dormammu for strange (avocado assist) at some point, or taskmaster for hawkeye, but for now this is what I have. It depends how viable rushing down is with hawkeye, or how good I can make strange in general.
I think people are too worried about leveling to 5, and not worrying enough about his game plan. He has cr.H as his only real low attack and it’s -9 on block, so opponents are going to block high nonstop - unless you have a low assist. Also they buffed wesker’s speed for some odd reason. His overhead M, and down H into roll are both amazing, and more amazing with wesker anchor.
uhhg… why did it have to be dante as his bff. I refuse to play that character but jeez, I seen nerd josh’s gameplay on the team spooky stream and he was getting level 5 so easily on a consitant basis… there’s gotta be a another way or i’mma have to cry
There are other characters that can put Frank at level 5, I’m sure, but in the meantime you might want to think about putting Frank 2nd, building meter, then TAC-ing him in to get a snapshot and/or THC off the combo. That’s what I do.
I’ve noticed that Frank’s THC is good for other characters too. That shopping cart hyper is too godlike. Just put two projectile hyper characters and Frank on a team and finish air combos with a THC as often as possible.

Switch to 720p so you can see the video better. Damage is 999.000k. Builds 2 meters with up exchange.
Zero + Frank is pretty nice.
DHC works from anywhere so that’s nice. Zero gets a lightning loop after Survival Techniques in the corner.
Zero gets:
Combos from forward air throw (anywhere), back air throw (anywhere), and forward ground grab (corner).
An assist that helps Zero lockdown and mixup a lot better not scaling ANY parts of his full BnB.
Combo extensions.
Cart assist sets up Zero’s unblockable with Sougenmu. *
Frank gets:
Someone that can THC into him without any assists, from anywhere, getting Frank into Lv.4.
Zero can do a Sougenmu combo from an unblockable and get Frank to Lv.4 plus him getting one of Zero’s great powered up assists.
DHC Partner.
I like this duo. Sadly, Frank doesn’t get any combo extensions with Zero’s Ryuenjin (which is what I use so Vergil can combo from his ground grabs). I have to rely on Vergil’s assist so Frank can get into Lv.4 solo. But apart from that, I see them playing together pretty nicely.
Hi, new to the Frank boards, but I’ve been maining Tron on point since Vanilla. These are just some things I came up with if there are any other Tron/Frank players. I’m working on using Nova/Frank as Nova has tools like a crumple and an air hyper that causes untechable knockdown for Frank to whiff DHC and snapshot to. with that said…
@ branespload, I like the synergy between the team. You can get to lvl 5 with any of the characters with one touch, so long as you have one bar at the start. Both your team and my team share the same problem though: they both get zoned out pretty bad. Though, things get slightly easier with meter and some good reads as no inv. on startup (unless Frank’s at a high enough lvl).
I feel that leveling up, while not being his whole game plan, is still a very important part of it. Only one low, unsafe normal is definitely a problem, though.
The thing about leveling up is that Frank becomes so awesome with his paddlesaws/chainsaws that your battle plans become simpler. Lv. 4/5 Frank is hard to approach if you make good use of those normals. Even at just Lv. 2/3, that combat roll makes getting in there and dealing damage to opponents much easier, as long as you got assists to cover it and you don’t mindless spam it.
I do think people should start some testing with Lv. 1 Frank, though. Slide can be made safer with assists, and the knee drop is already safe, though you can get easily punished if it misses completely.
Just curious I know Dantes Jam Session is really good but wouldnt hidden missiles be even better. 1. it covers that same area and it tracks you. You can also get two camera shots in one combo and im not too sure but I believe if you call it right before blue light special, you can get another snapshot in.
Im thinking of playing Viper (burn kick)/Frank West (cart)/Doom (hidden missiles). but im thinking of changing Viper for Iron Fist and wondering if thats a better idea or not.
Also what about team hyper combos. Can you use those to get some snapshots in?
