yup, stone smite works well for frank combos too. If you’re in the corner just be sure to call skrull, dash back with frank, then camera to help get the timing/positioning down.
You know, I counted Skrull out as an option a while ago because I didnt want one of those skrull nova teams that start with a simple combo but spend 2 meters to get frank to lvl 4 or 5 but him being on anchor as an assist might let me sleep at night. I promise not to be one of those skrulls that pops xf only to spam meteor smash. Almost full screen grabs seem real appealing to me as well. Hopefully I get some lab time tonight to try it out.
edit: another plus for this team is I can use skrull assist to level frank instead of haggar and I can let him actually regain some red health.
I’ve been running Nemesis/Chris with Frank and Skrull for a good while now and I can tell you that Skrull as an assist is very useful for Frank and is a great anchor.
Man, unfortunately stone smite isnt cutting it as an assist for haggar. Hes the mayor, I gotta give him what he wants. Im thinking Dorm, Ive tried him before though and I find playing with him a bit clunky.
Why not run the Tenderizer assist? When used off of Frank’s photos it usually has too much decay to keep hitting which allows you to do roll mixups and then follow up combos. Its actually quite mean in the long run.
Thats what I was looking at to begin with, the problem is with the hsd that it produces. I really just have to play with it more and work with different timings to find a way for haggar’s combos to be consistent. It could just open up more resets for haggar in the end.
Not the best team, but I’m running Frank West/Dorm/Task. My Dorm sucks and my Task is way better, hence me putting Task as anchor. Plus I can DHC into Flame Sphere, which is safer than Task Arrows (if I’m close to the opponent). Really easy to get level 3 with Dorm, Task provides full screen projectile, Dorm provides close/mid screen coverage. I can also do the AAA reset using Task arrows once I OTG with a photo. You just have to wait a second to ensure the opponent is the right height.
I noticed that you can do a THC and have enough time for a photo to get level 4. But sometimes the combo drops and I can’t figure out if it’s random or I’m missing the timing on something.
What would be Skrull’s best assist to help Haggar and Frank? I’m still hesitating between Stone Smite and Tenderizer.
I couldn’t get either to work well enough to warrant making the switch over to skrull. With more time practicing I think I could get tenderizer to work better. Stone Smite, while good for frank, did not work for me with haggar because unless I was near the corner, I found that I had to chase people too far to convert off the wall bounce. Tenderizer on the other hand is difficult because if you continue your combo too soon, tenderizer will screw it up but the timing between too early and too late(they pop out) is difficult to gauge. Let me know if you have more success than I did, I think tenderzier could be real interesting with some practice, I just dont have the time to put in currently.
so last night I was working on a Frank team and here’s what I discovered. It is likely something people are aware of in some capacity but I don’t know how its been utilized.
I’ve placed Frank on anchor, Wesker on point and Vergil second. the strategy is to have shopping card assist for setups with Wesker then perform a simple combo that looks like (ground magic series, super j magic series, samurai edge otg into rapid slash into launcher, air magic series into aerial exchange to Frank)
from there you do some 3 light tools loops into flying screen, camera into hyper, then DHC into Vergil’s power up, raw tag back to Frank for one more camera and maybe another hyper.
this gets Frank to lvl 4 with 2 bars, no big deal. the interesting thing is that because I use Vergil assist in the Wesker portion of the combo Frank (in anchor position) comes out for the exchange instead of Vergil. this way I can level him up effectively with my point and if things go wrong and Wesker dies with Frank still lvl 1 I have Vergil combos that can consistently level him without risking an exchange. If things go well the order is left at Frank Vergil Wesker which is great.
I chose Wesker because the timing on his relauch gives me just the right amount of time to allow an exchange after the assist. Vergil is there because he’s got a power up super to help level Frank and because he can convert a bnb info Frank levels too. both of these characters love the cart too.
my biggest problem is converting the rapid slash assist into a relaunch. this can get dicey online. I’d rather use judgement cut but in the corner it fails to hit a lot of characters after the otg. any suggestions for a better way to create a relaunch using a Vergil assist?
I would be most willing to change out Wesker for the reason stated above. needs to be someone who can relaunch after a Vergil assist and become a decent anchor.
comments and suggestions on this team please!
Lately I have been using Nova/Arthur /Frank. I figure if I was gonna use 2 bars to level up frank whats the best way to maximize my return? So after a Nova Force, I DHC into Arthur’s golden armor raw tag Frank and Snapshot. Not only do I have level 4 frank, I get the insane golden Daggers assist for backup. Arthurs a solid Anchor (Although Gimmicky) The only problem with the team comp is if they kill the first two characters easily then I’m stuck with level 1 Frank. If nova dies and I can’t get a clean hit quickly with Arthur Ill try to find a safe place for frank to tag in. I’d rather have XF Arthur than frank level 1 of course. If I do get a hit in with frank a THC gets to level 3/4 easily. All in all its a risk/reward team but it is quite fun. Successfully getting Frank with Nova on deck and Golden Daggers assist makes the team quite formidable imo. Nova’s assist is great as well for mixups and the extra damage. One of my favorite resets is doing a full frank combo ending with Roundhouse Kick Hard,Centurion Rush assist, St M, Funny Face Crusher
Kinda new to this part of the forum lol My main team is Zero Frank West and Ammy. I normally use the TAC method but trying to use ways to get to level 3 and above. I know Cold Star is obvious. Just want some input on the team.
Hello, I have got a few questions about doom and frank, Is it possible for doom to get frank to lvl 4 without TAC? I saw a video earlier in the thread but it was really confusing and the timing seems really off when I tried. If someone could make a video or care to explain in depth it would help greatly. Also the team i’m trying to make is Doom Frank Strider in that order. If I had a reliable way to get Frank too lvl 4 I think this would be a strong team. Thanks in advanced!
End the combo with air Photon Array, DHC into survival techniques (whiff), snapshot if memory serves me correctly.
I understand that much but the timing is a little weird on top of that does it get auto lvl 4
I don’t know the timing because I have a whopping 0 interest in playing a doom/Frank team. I do know it definitely gets 4 when done properly because all of the photons hit so you get a good 40ish hits off the hyper alone + the hits from the combo. Heck you do Doom/Vergil/Frank you can get level 5 off a 2 bar combo.
thanks for the help if someone could explain the timing i would be good to go!
There’s no real timing to it, not in my experience at least… just DHC and snapthost asap. Don’t let them get too close to the ground before you DHC or they’ll recover more quickly. Just do it as soon as you get your fifty hits unless it’s just too early in Photon Array to dhc.
For everyone running a flashy screen-filling hyper as a THC (Ammy, Wesker, Vergil) I found out a cool mix-up. Since the screen is outright impossible to see, you can just throw out j.M and cr.H randomly and profit. I know two to three meters is a bit much for one mix-up, but most of the cast will be forced to sit in blockstun while you throw out hard-to-see random high/lows.
Hey, playing a team of Nova(b)/Frank(a)/Strider(y), but I’m thinking about dropping Strider. Nova and Frank help each other out pretty well, but I don’t know where Strider fits in there very well. Any tips?
