cool thanks
Frank/Arthur you’ll have to put in a little bit of work to get what you’re looking for. Goddess Bracelet THC for Frank works but you usually won’t get level 4 that way because the opponent will usually wallbounce (they’ll still get hit by bracelets on the back end but you’ll miss a bunch), and for DHCing into King’s armor you’ll need the first snapshot to be about 22 hits or so (I’d have to re-double check) to snap >> Techniques >> armor >> raw tag >> snap starting at 0 EXP. Doable, but not without barriers.
I’ve been finding luck with Frank (on lead) and Iron Man (middle).
Frank has a hard time with characters that fly so Iron Man’s Repulsor Blast seemed like a good assist. It turns out that it too can actually level Frank to level 3. Also, Iron Man, when assigned the Repulsor Blast assist, has the Angled Proton Cannon in a THC; this allows Frank to (though very quickly) snapshot for an instant level 4.
My team seems to work really well going Frank (Shopping Cart), Wesker (Ghost Butterfly), and Dr. Doom (Plasma Beam). Wesker will be able to extend Frank’s combos, no matter what level Frank is. Also, Dr. Doom’s beam assist is amazing for helping Frank get in, especially when Frank is tossing zombies everywhere.
Frank is also self sufficient with his combos, allowing him to DHC into Wesker to give the opponent problems with dealing with a glasses off Wesker. Another little plus is when Doom hits with a plasma beam and you can’t slide in, you snap a picture and you get the barrel roll in Frank’s arsonel.
Doom is an amazing anchor thanks a ton to his foot dive. The team pretty much works in any combination, so I don’t mind a character dying when the team is out of whack…(Wesker dies leaving Frank and Doom-can still extend Frank’s combos with assist, and Frankstill has an easy way to get in. Frank leaves with Wesker and Doom left-that’s just a terrifying combination, Doom shooting plasma beams everywhere while Wesker gets his usual pressure. Doom dies with Frank and Wesker- it hurts to get Frank in, but the fact that Doom died either means I DHCed into him, meaning frank is at least level 3, he gets snapped in, which makes things a bit difficult, or I get happy Birthdayed, which just leaves a level 3 xf Wesker, and we all know what happens then.)
I’m probably going to be labing a new team with Frank West using my two other characters in Marvel: Deadpool and Iron Man. Team order will probably be Deadpool/Frank West/Iron Man.
I’m thinking it sounds good on paper. I know Deadpool has some tricks for leveling Frank up. I saw a video for leveling up Frank using a bola loop and a raw tag from Deadpool, but I can’t find it anymore.
I’m glad to see more people using Iron Man. He’s a very underrated character and Repulsar Blast is an excellent assist (though I will probably be using Unibeam on my team).
is it this one from pg1 of the skipping level 1 frank thread?

Yes that’s it, thank you.
I’m wondering if Iron Man’s unibeam will work in place of Dante’s Jam Session in that video. Repulsar Blast might work better.
I really need to practice that deadpool combo. I can just imagine the fun setting up unblockables with a lvl 4 frank j.M and quick work assist.
there will be blood.
Being one who currently mains Iron Man, it isn’t as efficient as Dante’s Jam Session but it does hold your opponent for quite a long time: long enough for (takes time to get used to) two camera shots.
Though, Repulsor Blast knocks the victim around left and right somewhat randomly whereas Dante puts the victim in such an easy, vulnerable spot for almost an eternity. I haven’t tried out the combo since my Deadpool is, well, dead compared to every other Deadpool I’ve seen so I can’t say if Iron Man’s Repulsor Blast is an exact substitute (in terms of effectiveness) for Jam Sesson.
I’m not that good at the game, but I love it so much. Anyways here’s a Doom/Frank West DHC Trick that I found today (Someone probably did this by now, but w.e)

You might wanna check my video a few posts up for some Doom/Frank tips. Also the drinking combo I hardly use now since I have another BnB that gets me to level 4 just the same with only doom assist and no need to drink.
What assist do you use?
I’ll probably make another video to highlight some of the synergy between Doom and Frank.
I’m trying to settle a dispute with a buddy of mine on which position Frank should be put at on a team. He says startup, with an assist that can keep the combo going after snapshot, (He uses Nemesis launcher slap), I say he’s better second, (I prefer not to anchor him, in case things go horribly wrong for me) that way with an aerial exchange you could get a much higher hit combo with air tool L. Another argument I have against it, is that, well, lvl 1 Frank is garbage to be fair. He can’t use his roll (Which I abuse the hell out of) I’m a newbie to these parts, so please take it easy on me if I said something blatantly stupid.
Second is indisputably better. His assist is a really good lockdown so a lot of characters can benefit greatly from it and while some players are making level 1 frank work, it’s commonly agreed that he’s very limited. In my opinion, he’s better second with someone who can level him up on-point, be it through TACs or through DHCs (ideally not TACs since those are counterable). Though of course, I’ll still respect an on-point frank player with assists to back him up. Honestly, people disrespect him too much. He may have very weak mixups but his normals, while obviously overshadowed by their leveled-up counterparts, can go toe-to-toe with a lot of fighters and his ability to convert a full combo from basically anything (giant swings, air loops, random long-range slides) is really good. It just so happens that at level 5, or even 4, he may very well be top 5.
I use Hsien-ko’s Senpu Bu assist. I basically use Hsien-ko on point, but when the match starts I either zone with her or go straight into her armor hyper (After I activate Hsien-ko’s armor hyper I tag in Doom). Btw I can get to level 4 after a DHC (as long as I have 2 bars). When I do a combo with Frank and end it with Survival Techniques, I DHC into Hsien-ko’s armor hyper, hard tag, snap shot, and if I have another bar then I cancel his snap shot into Survival Techniques (Obviously this only works if Hisen-ko is 2nd)
Can I please see your videos, and should I change my assist?
Asking purely about openingpeople up and landing hits and pressuring, and ignoring combo extending entirely, which doyou think are fr4nk we5t’s (as in 4/5 frank) best assists? I’m playing ammy frank xxx (ammy is sooooo easy to level with!) And like dante in back purelybecause I like the welcome setups where I make them spawn into a jam session as I roll behind them (seriously, no one blocks this) and I LOVE this setup. Buti don’t really love anchor dante (for me. As far as game theory he’s excellent). Hawk/task arrows seem good for roll-behind crossups, and tatsu could work for that too. Any other “best friends” for a leveled frank? Vergil would be sick because I like the idea of vergil anchor, but rapid slash doesn’t strike me as so useful for frank (or ammy for that matter). Id love to learn I’m wrong about this. I like doom a lot and may test out plasma beam as well. Also I tried drones months ago and dug em, so maybe missiles. But seems like frankie wants something a tad more immediate. (Edit: I admit id also love to hear frank likes a cold star since my team gives him one by default )
Also, does anyone have any fun welcome setups along the lines of the above jam session trick? I read in a diff thread about pushblock into servebot super, but that doesn’t seem so reliable. Do I need jam session for maximum welcome dirt? Ill stick with dante if its the diff between free combo every entry and not, but figured id see what else folks are doing. Thanks!
Rapid slash does more harm then good since it pushes them away and Frank already has a hard time going in as is. I saw someone do very well with vergil judgement cut assist tho. It allows for throw->assist + snapshot pickup into combo. I also enjoy the idea of Vergil anchor, not to mention Spiral Swords is always a strong DHC.
For incoming char stuff, for level 4/5 I know the tail end of the hits people, so you can do dash under , much like how Skrull does dashing :h: and it hits as a cross up even though its facing the other direction. I usually go for the dash under , or I do jump up 's. For the jumping one if they push block you can FFC. If they don’t, then you can call assist + roll stuff.
thinking of trying this team so I can actually pick one to practice with, thinking Ryu/Frank/Chris. idk about the synergy between ryu/frank, but with chris’s combination punch assists, you can get 2 snapshots in anytime you could get one. Just throwing it out there for input. Biggest issue i could see is not having a otg assist to help ryu out but idk.
Just trying to find a team of uncommon characters that works.
First I’ll say that Ryu does not need an OTG assist to help him combo. Unless you meant a low assist for high/low mixups? I think it could be possible for Frank to level up from a whiffed DHC after Ryu’s tatsu hyper. I can’t test if it does a hard knockdown. Also, since Ryu has a power up hyper, you can do survival techniques-> DHC to Ryu power up->raw tag Frank back in->snapshot.
Sorry to sound like a noob, still new, but with snapshotting with chris’ combination punch or whatever assist, does it only work in the corner? Because midscreen ending in the air with s puts you too far away for the camera shot and assist, but ending with the knee drop seems like you don’t recover in time to call the assist and then take the pics. Am I being a retard?
I would have to try myself (can’t right now), but have you tried (wave)dashing to close the gap after j.S and be close enough for Comb. Punch to connect? I’m not sure it has to be corner specific
