Thats something I never really understood. If you’re saying theres such a thing as evil arent you assuming there’s such a thing as good? When you say there’s such a thing as good arent you assuming that there is a moral law to differentiate between good and evil? But then dont you assume a moral law giver?
Because when a person makes a question of evil it is by and about a person. Which means the concept of person hood is inextricably bound to the moral impetus of the question. And you cant have the moral impetus in the question unless you have essential worth to person hood. And the only way to have essential worth to person hood is if there is a transcendent, moral, valuable, intrinsically worthy first cause by virtue of which we have that intrinsic worth. Not because its been given my state, culture or any other power. So if intrinsic worth is indispensable for the validity of the question the only way to justify intrinsic worth is if we’re created by a being of worth and therefore the the question of evil is only valid if worth is intrinsic. And worth is not intrinsic if we randomly evolved from “time +matter + chance”.

You can’t pin down anything as the root of all evil because evil is a really flimsy concept that can have a lot of different motivations.
You’re totally right, it had *nothing *to do with the major powers keeping control of the Balkans for imperialistic (read: profiteering) reasons.
Did I say it had nothing to do with money? It was certainly about that for the eastern European countries, but the western countries that actually decided the war+America had nothing to do with the Balkans. They joined in to honor their treaties with the nations that did have an economic reason for instigating war.
War’s a complicated thing, stop trying to simplify motives into one category.
I will actually continue to simplify it. For the masses participating in the war, yes it is very complex. But for those few at the top pulling the strings, it’s cut and dry.
Loss of human life and the denigration of humanity in a general sense will always be senseless. I’m not going to delude myself into thinking war is the best for the whole nations involved, it rarely ever is. Militarism and the strength of the military complex creates jobs, and gives greater economic power to nations. Imperialism is a dressed up cash grab (c’mon). Nationalism is the horseshit fed to you, to make you feel like your life is worth something in the theater of war.

All the major religions today have a striking similarity, not just the 3 monotheistic religions… there are some systematics and philosophies in their beliefs that have the same definition and direction. It’s the idea and personal understanding of the personality of this greater power that’s different.
You are also wrong about Taoism, check the name out . Taoists don’t believe in a certain god (they never addressed the nature or the name) they believe in the TAO/DAO. The Tao is a divine being who created everything in this universe. The existence of Tao implies something called “Te”. The Tao te ching has references to a god. Considering it a religion is also another error because it’s more of a philosophy. Buddhists and Shintoists practice some forms of Taoism.

I hate religion but I fucking love mythology. Riding on dragons, while slaughtering countless orcs for the honor of Odin, sounds bad ass than symbolically eating and drinking a dude or not eating for a while during certain parts of the year, and other things that general religion has to offer.
