Just like to remind everyone that while it works, I doubt it’s a fix for a bad internet connection. So if your ISP is Fisher Price, or you’re on wireless, it prolly won’t help much.
Believe it or not, but toasted played zen last night unaware that zen was on wireless. When I told him that he’s on wireless he was like wtf.
Just to emphasize: If you don’t notice the difference, play against someone with high ping, like U.S./Canada vs. UK.
I looked into the script, for paranoid people you can do it yourselves.
start>run>regedit
Then find: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/Tcpip/Parameters/Interfaces
there will be several interfaces, look for the one that has your correct ip information, then find **TcpAckFrequency,**you want to change that value to 1.
ah, avatar finally updated
So bump for avatar new and 3s based, big thread, nobody DGAF

but haitani liked this shit. So its cool. Cool.
And your techno wizardry, network mechanic-ing. Could use more tech help when people need their GGPO to get better. The program and the playing on it.
WHAT DID U JUST SAY LOL
Are you like constantly high or something?
played some on GGPO a couple nights ago with the patch. I live in Alaska and have a 1mbps connection and it’s wireless. so shit all around basically, and I never really expect to have amazing results against anyone.
and as expected, the patch didn’t magically fix my internet. it did seem better on my end against my buddy from California that I play once a month or so, though. he said he was still seeing a ton of rollbacks on his end. don’t know if he was seeing something worse than what I was seeing or if he’s just more sensitive to rollbacks.
tl;dr version: it is definitely true that the patch will not magically fix your fisher price internet. so there’s that I guess.
Asking the same question many others have.
News travels slow to your part of the world… must be your computer!
(I have a 2006 XP)
Bump.
New avatar.
This is the full image source.
I showed it to Haitani, he laughed.
You weirdoes play a lot of GGPO, spread the word to other users on this program add on. [details=Spoiler]Even write a n00b guide, step by step, as 3s players are smart but can still have the tech hurdle. While many nerds can plug and play but play so bad you wouldn’t want them in your rooms anyway as they don’t understand 3s.[/details]

how Q-botic is this shit. 3s forum not… CFJ/CFE.
WTF, WTF.
honestly this akuma is way too real life for me right now, I dont know whats happening
time to main akuma
Reliance on probabilistic thinking implies we will no longer to create more advanced techniques to observe more effects and phenomena.
We were fucked when allowed any kind of lag/DELAY into our 3s/Lives.
Hold up.
I know it’s part bullshit but still.
Downloaded GGPO for the first time in years today. I went online and I gotta say I had a better experience than OE lately. Thanks Toasted for all the info. How was the connection on your end when we played? I followed all the steps you suggested and it seemed to be running okay except for the chat crashing my games.
FYI, I was on wireless I’m going to see if I can move my modem/rtr downstairs and maybe it will improve my connection some more.
yeah in game chat crashes me on 3s and ST. not sure what’s up with that.
maybe ggpo has bad error handling? that udp isn’t about no error handling.
wow that was wireless, it was pretty smooth, I was doing my links easily
n00b question.
What is "Overclocking USB ports"
Sounds easy, but I wanted to ask you players already doing it first.
Any risks? Have to be a “USB 2.0” already?
I will have to use Madcatz TE, XBOX version not PS3 for ease of use with PCB compatibility right?
overclocking USB ports is just changing the rate that Windows samples USB at. from every 8ms to every something faster. can’t remember what it is.
just do this:
http://www.ngohq.com/news/15043-how-to-increase-usb-sample-rate-in-windows-vista-7-a.html
dunno about any risks. been on my computer the last year or so and no issues.
I’ve used this for over a year with no problems.
Will it work the same for XP? Or should I search out a similar thing, to be more OS specific.
Seems to be the thing to do even when not gaming, read and write faster from Flash jump drives and more.
