You will note that both arcs share a common point in that a hyped character who is supposed to be a main draw loses almost instantly at the start of a fight to a kick to the nads.
The other problem with the prisoner arc was it never having a clear resolution. Yes, it did end, but it didnât end in a climax since all of the prisoners were too weak and had completely divergent storylines.
But Ali Jr. was absolutely ridiculous.
Canât believe Ali Jr. went after Bakiâs girl. Pathetic. If I spoiled anything for anyone I donât care because the arc sucks.

Gotta disagree with you here bro, sure there were some ok bits, but it was just sloppy, and disjointed, and the resolutions for the prisoners were just fucking stupid. After that my expectations for NGB was completely low(the Raitai arc was fucking awesome though). Ali Jr. though was just completely dumb with all the hypeâŠ

There was absolutely no fucking reason from that, but that he completely jobbed to Baki was the ultimate spit in the face, ESPECIALLY after that whole spiel about the âAli Fighting Methodâ being perfectedâŠright before he got one shotted, riiiiiiiight.

Mr_snow, also check out the Taniguchi Jiro version of Garouden, itâs a one shot, but is more gritty, vintage style(I think it came out in the 90s or 80s) and I did like it but wished there was more of it, though the ending was pretty succinct.

Tanba in Garouden Boy, Garouden Fighting Wolves, and Garouden(JIRO version) is all the same Tanba? Because as beast as he was in Garouden, seeing him in Garouden(JIRO version) is baffling.

@Hate, yep, all the same guy. Garoudenâs pretty popular in Japan and has had several media adaptations. The Tanba in the live action film is probably closer to the JIRO version, as Itagaki did take several liberties (FAW, Great Tatsumiâs org was originally called Toyo Puro Resu as it is in the JIRO version, and also other things though I donât know the rest, having not read the original novels.)

Iâve been thinking about everyoneâs hatred of Baki wrecking Ali so fast. I remember reading a part in the scenes where someone (donât recall who) mentioned that those two fighters were of such exceptional skill that a fight like theirs wouldnât go on beyond the first couple hits. And think about it, in real life street fights are decided almost instantly. Baki always seemed like it was trying to be as real as possible, albeit with incredibly lazy physics apparently. Just my thought on the matter.
Man BEWD, were you arguing that the Ali arc was the worst part or not? Iâm not defending the prisoner arc (shit was stupid), but Ali was stupid, boring, and just wrong. Snow, the fight itself was bad because that was the last time for the arc to be redeemed.

There are many discs as well, including one from french singer Dominic A, who sings âQuartier Lointainâ (first manga of Taniguchi ever published in France). Taniguchi says he likes it even though he doesnt get a single word of it.

He says âof course Iâm kind of anxiousâ. In France, readers only know his poetic, sentimental, contemplative works so far.

Taniguchi is moved, you can see it, so before getting back to work, guiding his assistants, he draws the backgrounds of his images, and comes back to his early years, that he is going to somehow, show to his French audience.

I let go traditional sports to get more into adventure, mountain for an example, especially the link that ties it to Man, and how the Man compares himself to it.
