any word if thereās ever going to be a Baki anime again? The first two series were great.
Hey guys, back, had to go put money down on a car, and got side tracked with my mom.
couple notes:
-The Gaiden stories: Advent of Ogre, Secrets of the Hanayama Clan, Retsu Gaiden, and Gaia/Barack Obama gaiden, are part of a special volume being collected called Baki LEGENDS, no idea when itās being released.(Before people jump me the Gaia/Barack Obama hasnāt been scanlated yet :P, though I have the raw if anyone wants that.)
-Scarface actually takes place 5 years AFTER SoO, so for the Scarface readers you may notice the certain lack of Baki, Itagakiās trying to have Hanayamaās Gaiden play along without spoiling the ending of Baki/Yuujirouās conflict, which is why I think he stopped Scarface at 5 vols(originally 4, but fan demand was so great he released another volume to tie up the midget part I think) as he was having difficulty dancing around Baki/Yuujirou.
I must admit the fight between Orochi and Yujiro was badass. Yujiro is too damn beast!
Anyone else read Oyaji if you got the hook up from BEWD?

Oyaji = too good, just a hard ass who doesnāt take shit from anyone, lol. The translator who put in the work wasnāt sure if people would like Oyaji, so itās sorta a labor of love for him if you read the editorās notes, so thatās pretty cool, hopefully we get vol 2 soon >.<

all iām saying is the art style changes drastically every season in the anime.
it goes from awesome, to ok, to ASS. and i rarely notice this sort of thing.

Dude, remember the episode with Karel- (I mean Garland:lovin:)? When he put the street gang dude through the ceiling? The animation was so terrible(especially in the locker room scene before Jack fought the Shaolin fighter) I thought I had a bad episode.
So reading garouden i just noticed a reference to Doppo.
Are they officially set in the same universe ?
Edit: Also glad to see i was not the only one that noticed the Garland - Karelin relationship 
BTW whatās the name of the author for the Baki and Garouden series again? I think he should be mentioned in the first post so people would know the name of the creator of these great series.
Garouden is prob. my fav., the fights in them are just plain awesome IMO, plus the end to Vol. 10 just made me go OoO, Skullomania would be proud :rock:

No, remember, Itagaki is only ILLUSTRATING the manga of Garouden, the original novels were written by Baku Yumemakura several years ago.(Heās a pretty well known author for his sci fi novels, but two of his martial arts novels, Garouden and Lionās Gate are really popular, he also has another story of his being illustrated by a mangaka, called Wilder, the Beast Doth Lament.)
Itagaki just sprinkled references to Baki thoroughout the story, without changing any of the source material, if you notice on Tanbaās hitlist in the beginning, Makunouchi Ippo is also on there. 
Also, Baki has several characters that are based off real life people, or are those people ripped from real life directly:
Antonio Igari -> Antonio Inoki
Orochi Doppo -> Mas Oyama(even though the real Mas Oyama himself is referenced when Pickle uses his prehistoric speed)
Mt.Toba -> Giant Baba
Garland -> Alexander Karelin
Jun Gebaru(this is the original name Itagaki gave for Guevara) -> Che Guevara
Unchained Oliva -> Sergio The Myth Oliva.
Hanma Yuujirou was inspired by Matt Dillon, a lion, and a Oni(Itagaki made the Matt Dillon reference in a rare interview that was taken off youtube. :/)
Zulu, the african -> Zuluzinho, a famous vale tudo fighter who was brazilian

Baku Yumemakura does this also in Garuoden, though very very rarely, he only used the martial artists that were famous at that time
Shozan Matsuo -> Mas Oyama(the wiki article is wrong, and someone keeps editing whenever I tried to correct it, Shozan Matsui never fought bulls, nor did he do the extreme Iron Kungfu-ish training oyama did)
Great Tatsumi -> The real life Promotor Tatsumi(canāt remember his full name)

When Baki is a kid and has red hair whatās the saga called? Because Baki as a kid in is Baki vol 9 eventhough the previous volumes has him older.
