Gyahahha, here’s hoping baki actually wakes up now, as Yuujirou made it clear in no uncertain terms that Baki will never get that “Father Son” scenario he wants, just like Strydum pointed out. I think the fact you’d need to MAKE your dad give you that father-son relationship is proof that it never existed in the first place, but I guess it was a nice interlude.

^Which makes NO fucking sense, Baki couldn’t even manifest Pickle’s aura, but can clearly manifest his fathers. He beat Pickle so badly with brute force(Not even fucking using the Oni back for fucks sake), that Pickle was forced to use martial arts to win, yet somehow Baki is still not at his father’s level? The only good thing I can see coming out of Retsu’s foray into boxing would be if he could teach Ali Jr kung-fu hand and weight-shifting/stance-shift techniques to maximize speed/strength with very litle movement, so Ali can develop skills like the no-inch punch to make his own boxing style more perfect…and actually formidable.

Meguru: Glad to see Takashi schooling people again, didn’t think he’d be that vulnerable to hooks with his training with Tetsuo’s bodyguard, but it looks like he still has some holes.
To be honest, I don’t understand Meguru. I like it, but… it feels like a slice-of-life manga more than a fighting one. Like if azumanga was about MMA.
That would be the worst news ever about Veritas. It is popular over here.

for real man cancelling the manga after the way the first part ended would be one of the biggest dissapointments of this year. oh and what ever happened to garouden? last time I read in here, it wasn’t selling that much, which is a shame really, since I find it a bit more entertaning than baki since it’s a bit more realistic

Okay…I figured out what’s bothering me about Baki’s style (besides the strange shin-to leg/forearm to upper arm ratios): the artist draws the eyes as if everyone got their eyelids sliced off, unless they’re feeling really mellow and their eyelids are lowered… Those faces are creepy. Still, despite that, it’s still fun to read.
