Also, baki is bad. Itagaki reminds me of my friend that things that boxing shouldn’t have weight classes because if a flyweight can’t beat a heavyweight then he isn’t a good fighter.

edit: lol Stabby, yeah it’s like itagaki thinks the concept of weight classes(as well as everything else in boxing) is completely useless(see Baki v. Oliva), hell baki characters can’t even get basic footwork right(instead throwing punches from buffoonishly stupid angles that would be completely impractical in real life)

Not as violent as Garouden, Shamo or Baki but it has the same Martial Arts technique Geekery so it’s an enjoyable read.
I HATE the postures for people in Baki. Most of the time they look like they’re acting as if they’re having a tantrum and just standing they look like they’re about to topple over.
if you want realness it doesnt get any better than boti imo. the choreography and why people make certain moves, it all makes sense in that manga. it might actually be one of the few that does.

I’ll check for the what chapter they’re on but in the mean time I’ll tell you what’s going on for those who still care:
Baki is continuing his image training and fighting with his dad in his basement and even pretending that they have meals together, so much so that his girl kozue thinks he has someone living with him and is cheating on her. (Nothing on Retu) Also, it seems that the old Aikido guy that wears shades and had lost to Jack, is thirsting for a fight, so we will see him in the next issue it seems. They show him walking down the street and it says he’s needs to quench his thirst for battle (rough translation.)
Hope that tides those who are still into Baki over. Hopefully sometime I can take a picture and post it if I can get a comp.

Nah, its cool, but thanks for the update. It sounds like shit isn’t really happening, and the volume scans for baki are semi-easy to find, the tough things were the weekly chaps.
Ronin, once again it’s not that interest has been lost, it’s just like stabby said, weeklies are a bitch to find now, rawparadise going down really hurt baki raws, so really have to wait and see if regulars like Dofla post the new raws, but thanks for keeping us updated as well

from what I can tell, Yuujirou’s supers include the earthquake stopper, his axe kick he used to kill Dorian and ko Baki with, and Pickle’s high speed movement attack(>_>), no Oni Punchu :<
so i keep seeing this thread and so i looked up grappler baki on onemanga and read 8 chapters, this one http://www.onemanga.com/Grappler_Baki/
and then i deide to watch the cartoon and whilst i’m enjoying watching this red head kid fight a 15 yr old guy with crazy cheek bones and who can crush door knobs with his hands, i can’t help but wonder whether the two are linked? what was that 8 part anime i read and why was it not continued on onemanga?

The eight chapters on om are the very beginning of the grappler baki series, dealing with the champion arc where he fights Suwedo.
The anime cuts out a few fights from the original manga, but the core content is more or less the same though the chronology is
Manga:
Championship Arc, Child Arc, Maximum Tournament
Anime:
Child Arc, Championship Arc(sans the Suwedo fight and some extras), Maximum Tournament
