new meguru, I think, starting from there. There are at least two chapters, but since the online readers aren’t really up-to-date, I’m probably wrong.

I will try and and get around to tranlsating this, but basically that guy is some heavyweight firghter that they brought in to teach Retu what boxing is all about espoecially since Retu is a heavy guy and Manny was a lightweight. It`s mostly hype over the boxer, Retu admits that the’s amazing, notices his grip is weak, because boxer are accustomed to using gloves. and takes advantage - headbut to the fist, breaks all the hand bones. the rest you can understand without knowing Japanese I think.
Meguru just reached vol. 3 scanlation wise-

They plan to retranslate the first 2 volumes to fix some MMA terms so get those when they are available.
EDIT: BEWD, sorry for asking this yet again, but could you post titles of other mangas that focus on martial arts? You wrote some titles in a post once but I think it’s months ago.
^Yessir, will compile a new list to account for some other titles I’ve stumbeld across along the way
Gotta run to this mma gym to pick up some gear I left behind, gonna give a quick list of titles, will provide comments later:
Shamo
All Rounder Meguru
Koko-Tekken Den Tough
Tough(2nd series)
Full Contact
Ultra Red
Noritaka(replaces wolf guy wolfen crest, since thats not really martial arts focused, Noritaka however is about a kid who takes up muay thai)
Garouden(There’s the manga adaptation by Itagaki, as well as another lesser known one volume manga adaptation by another artist)
History’s Strongest Disciple Kenichi(There’s also a preceding series called Strongest Disciple that this is a spinoff/continuation of)
Veritas
Aiki
Bamboo Blade
Holy Land
Karate Shoukoushi Minoru
Gorio
Pound by Pound
Shadow Skill
Teppu
Yawara
Sam the 3000 Baht
Musashi No Ken
Not sure if this became a manga, but there’s Kick No Oni
There’s also an official K-1 Manga
tried to stick with ones that had as little supernatural/fantastic elements as possible(hence I excluded Hokuto No Ken and Dragonball, but you can add those in too)
Wolf Guy is a stretch. It has a boxer character in it, but most of the fighting is a guy that is just stronger than everyone. It uses actual fighting the way Baki uses boxers-- to shit on.
There’s two fighters in Wolf Guy. Wolf Guy isn’t about fighting at all. Inugami is retardedly above their level. In wolf form he can throw cars with a swing of an arm. This is him vs normal people. It’s like Yujiro vs random nobodies. In human form he’s so strong that if you punch him in the face it’ll break your bones so badly you can never punch again. Wolf Guy is about a wolf guy and the shit he goes through because he was born under a malevolent star. If you think Wolf Guy can be categorized as Martial Arts then it’s even closer to action(guns). Inugami is against fighting people.
Shamo is so good that I might read it again.
lol guys don’t kill me, was rushing, will axe wolfguy ;p
edit:
The two garoudens:

There’s also K.O. Sen, but that was cancelled so never really took off the ground, and I’ll warn you, Ultra Red has the shittiest cliffhanger ever.
edit2: to add in some more boxshingu
Rokudenashi Blues
Dragon Fist
Punch!(shoujo)
Ashita no Joe
Hajime no Ippo
One Pound Gospel
Monaco no Sorae
Cestvs/Cestus
Katsu!
Monaco no Sorae 2 Alas
Ring ni Kakero
Slow Step
How much of Ashita no Joe has been scanlated so far? Last I checked only up til chapter 40 got scanlated?
…and Ring ni Kakero is getting an anime adaption but has the manga been scanlated?
Wolf Guy looks like Naochika Morishita (Bloody Roar) drew it. And to those who don’t know, it’s about the main character not running around looking for fights, but trying to be left alone in human society…and eventually realizing that he doesn’t really feel humans are all stupid and worthless. I think super-boobed high school teacher gonna get boned.
That reporter guy said that he and Inugami are probably the last of their kind…but he isn’t a wolf (he’s an oni). I guess he means hengeyoukai, in general. Dou…I thought Dou was initially a hengeyoukai, with those eyes (bird-like), lack of emotion, and appearance.
Overall, Wolf Guy is okay…but it sucks that there seems to not be anyone strong enough to take on Inugami on the evil side. This will seemingly only be about his journey of self-discovery…unless Oni-guy tries to kill him for becoming to close to humanity.
I hate it. I love the art, but I also hated their (writer + artist team) previous series Akumetsu basically for the same reason-- too preachy.
Since that time wolfy just dropped haguro and was like “REAL WOLVES WON’T KILL FOR NO REASON, PEACE OUT” instead of just ending the fucking manga right there, I couldn’t stand it anymore. All anyone does is lecture, and that lack of skill in writing makes it feel like a waste of art.
^It’s actually gotten away from the whole preaching thing, and I’m not too sure I like where its going with Haguro’s now indiscriminate…“romps”
Still counting on teach getting (b)owned…if only she weren’t so stupid and helpless. Cute, though.
^Heh, funny you say that.
Last week’s Baki raw:

Yuuji’s pissed off again for some reason xD
Akumetsu was massively preachy. When you first see Haguro in action Chiba says his strength isn’t normal(just like Inugami’s) which is why I thought he was a wolf who was no longer honorable like Inugami. I don’t even see the point of continuing the story at all.
Baki suggests that he and Yuujiro have a father and son meal together, and that yuujiro cooks the rice…:looney:
Thanks ronin. Summed up 20 pages in a sentence. Are you going for that business japanese test too, or are you happy with the JLPT?
Oh, and the guy that did Ultra Red is doing a series called Kongou Banchou, which is a stretch to call it martial arts, but is really entertaining anyway.
And Rhio, can’t remember if you read Hunter x Hunter or not, but you should if you don’t. I think you’d enjoy it.
^Yeah was gonna mention Kongoh Banchou but didn’t really consider that part of the martial arts genre, as its more super-hero ish.
Yuujirou cooking the rice…ROFL, no wonder he had a near aneurysm
lol I JUST started Kongo banchou yesterday and it rocks but yeah it has nothing to do with the list xD
Still Kongo is manly sheds manly tears
SoO 189 is up on Sonikku’s blog
I want to recommend for anyone in the mood for something more ridiculous. The manga is fully translated, and has hands down the most amazing ending for any manga I’ve ever read. The martial arts are mostly about how hard you can punch through someone’s head, but the whole thing is about fighting.
I’d also recommend the movie.
