I’ve got to get my multiplayer back that shit was too good.
I wish I can type in any website on the gta computers and it’ll go through, that would be awesome.
^^ I almost lost my snapple on that one. That shit is funny as hell KOOP
ROFLMAO!!
I would enjoy gta d.c or gta tokyo. Ish would be str8 fire.
GTA tokyo would be the shiettt!!!
I’d bank on them going back to London before Tokyo. Not that I would have a problem with either.
I don’t know, The Getaway has already done London. Not that Rockstar couldn’t do it, but I honestly believe Tokyo would be the right choice for these consoles. Imo, we don’t need another fancy game with lovely brick walls and solid concrete slabs. We need to see these babies push their lighting systems to the absolute max and produce the biggest, densest, brightest city ever created. You can’t go back one step, you need to head with the momentum and with the momentum they have now, forward is the only option. You need to go bigger, you need to go brighter, Time Square is to me, stunning, but Tokyo would be the next level and that’s where I want them to go.
To me, London is random and actually resembles Liberty City in a lot of ways. Like building size, style, and even the design in some of the roads. Tokyo is completely different, it’s like Time Square times a million. Anyone remember State of Emergency? That game had crazy amounts of people, Tokyo is so over populated, it would be great to see some of that in a game. Huge crowded streets all glowing neon in every diffent colour. Lights blow out, everything blows up, it would be genius…
i thought i would be sick of multiplayer, i played multiplayer yesterday after a few days off and i was hooked and happy, its a great online game, i havent touched it at all offline
In the last thread I posted. Someone said that GTA was superior to Saints Row. What are you guys’ opionon on that? I felt that Saints Row had really great graphics, a decent storyline despite the fact that the main protaganist didn’t talk “much”, great controls and a few really good original ideas.
GTA3 started out with a chracter that didn’t talk at all. But that still didn’t detract away from it being a quality game, at least for me. So IMO, that shouldn’t count against saints row either. Stillwater isn’t that big, but I heard it’s been expanded on big time for the sequel. Or so they say. They claim that the NPC’s are going to be more… whats the word I’m looking for? Lively? In the next installment. One thing I didn’t like about Saints Row is the fake name for the guns. Why the fuck would they do that? A gun is a gun is a gun. Unless your making some si-fi shit, there is no reason to change out the names. For cars, I can understand, but the names of guns aren’t copywritten so tight that the makers are going to sue you for using the names.
I know the wiki isn’t the most creditable source for info, but it’s got a lot of good stuff in it about Saints Row 2. Weather these things will be in the game or not. The game did it’s job the first go round and it needed a chance to mature. To try and climb from behind GTA’s shadow. But, as much as I hate to say this because I’m a big fan of GTA. I’ve been playing since GTA2. But Saints Row 2 is going to outshine GTA4. I don’t think it will right off the back in sales like in the first week since GTA has a long standing track record of being a quality game and had hella hype. But THQ is definitely going to move some units on this one. They are going to have to push it real hard in the media so the game doesn’t end up being another sleeper hit like the first one.
ONEZ
i’ve never played saints row but some friends of mine said it was ok.
i can agree slightly… but I think if SRII takes the cake… it will be cause of the “after” effect. They will get to see where the failures of GTA are an try to take in account of that. Which I noticed cause GTA DID NOT diss SR in the game at all (not to my knowledge yet)… I haven’t played so I don’t know the story line, but it seems to gain it own cult seemingly due to the “urban” style it brings instead of the different breed of nationality that GTA does… I will sit back an watch cause I am a GTA fan to the fullest. I understand everyones complaints now… but it makes me ask what did u really expect. Its Rockstars first GTA on this platform… they WILL take an learn what can be enhanced… put back in an taken out. If your a “fan” then you should understand that. I have my issues but im not going to sit back an nit pick it apart at all. I am satified honestly. An if they drop some downloaded content i can see it keepin focus. Gamers seem to become addicted so hard that they literally run through shyt an not sit back an enjoy… hell look at your stats… it literally tells you how addicted your are to this game:rofl: . so all in all if SRII becomes the better game… so be it. Im not jumping ship cause this is Rockstars first stab… YOU KNOW their gonna blow it out of the water next go around…
I’m really curious what everybody else expected too. Seriously. It sounds like some of you bought into the hype. That’s why I don’t get into the whole “hype game” because I’ll always end up disapointed. I came into this game expecting nothing but a good game and that’s what I got.
I think the game is awesome. I think there are some elements that are missing that were in previous games, things I would have liked (robbing stores) and there seems to be less you can do if you just want to cause total chaos, but I stopped playing GTA games for that a long time ago. I’ve always been more interested in the story and the scenarios it puts me in and Niko is the best character that has been in a GTA game. Particularly since he’s not really a bad person. He’s done bad things, but it goes beyond being a mafia guy trying to get back some coke money in Miami, D-boy in Cali, or a guy who doesn’t talk who’s in deep with the underworld. The decisions that I’ve had to make, based on the scenarios I was presented with actually bother me to an extent, and you can see it in the way Niko acts. He’s the most fully realized character I’ve played in a GTA game.
Also, the amount of realism in the world makes me want to do random things that I never did before in these games. I never gave a fuck about looking for hidden packages or car deliveries or any thing else like that. This is the first game that’s made me want to do all that because driving around and interacting in the world is a lot more enjoyable for me than it was previously.
It looks great considering all the stuff that’s going on IN the game. The facial features especially. This is the first game I’ve seen where the characters emoting actually looks real. The physics are incredible. The explosions look fucking awesome. It’s a good looking game, that’s formed together really well. Yeah, there are glitches, but there hasn’t been a game this complex that’s come out yet.
The game isn’t perfect, but I understand why it got tens from most people. It really raised the bar on what to expect from a game like this. For it’s overall package, it delivers in spades. I think there are things that can be improved (The radio stations were far superior in san andreas and vice city, but that’s cause those were period games) and there was more random shit to do in the other games. Thing is, I know rockstar will implement these things in future games. GTA III was relatively bare bones compared to Vice City and San Andreas. I’m looking for those improvements in the future. Vice city was released like, what? A year after III? We won’t be waiting that long. OR, we will, and they’ll give us that stuff in downloadable content.
I think people thought this game would be the second coming of Jesus Christ and it’s not. Which sucks for some of you cause you can’t enjoy a really awesome game cause it doesn’t match up with what you thought it should be.
I’m also a huge fan of what they did with the city and technologically, this game is quite incredible. Go to time square and just sit there. Listen, watch what happens. It’s really quite amazing. The world is alive beyond the point of being scripted. I haven’t seen the same thing happen twice yet.
Rockstar built a really amazing world.
Best GTAIV Review by far:
i agree with RC’s block of text. i didn’t know there was a new GTA coming out until one day i logged onto SRK and saw this thread, and a week later i bought the game when it came out and was pretty much floored by it. there are some things that are annoying such as the “get cover” button and auto aim fucks you over lots of time but beyond those small things there’s minimal bad in the game. the ability to catch cabs is by far the best addition to the GTA world imo.
yo scoot, my bad, i want to play single player for now…not really into multiplayer.
When I went to buy GTA4, the dude at Gamestop was hypin up Saints Row hard. He was tellin me more about that game than about GTA4.
…I played the demo of Saints Row and I just couldn’t get into it. I’m not sure what it was.
Well if the dude at Gamestop says it’s awesome…it must be.
Dudes at Gamestop are sooooo knowledgeable.
At least that guy was recommending something similar. I went to buy GTAIV and the guy wouldn’t fucking get off that I should pre order Ninja Gaiden II right then and there. Why would I do that…I’m not buying anything similar to Ninja Gaiden, what makes him think I would be remotely interested in that…
In true GTA fashion the last mission is completely fucking ridiculous.
