Well what are you fussing about? For right now until they get a patch up youre gonna have to play single player offline. Apparently they didnt anticipate THIS many people getting the game, server overloads among other things.
Can someone tell me how to get a car repaired? Is it a way?

And GTA4 NOT BOOTING UP in the first place has nothing to do with the servers being overloaded.
And yes, Rockstar knew this would be big. That’s probably the silliest thing I’ve ever heard.
My bitch is that CoD4 did this same shit with on the PS3 side as far as releasing a shitty online component. Servers sucked, lagging all over the place, couldn’t connect with matches, hit detection was all fubared, etc. Not that GTA4 has the same issues but it has multiplayer issues nontheless.
When people bitched about CoD4 and the lack of online, there were people like you that were saying “…But you still have single player. Be happy with that.”
Well, I payed $60 for a game that had multiplayer capabilities. Bottom line. Yeah, single player is definately fun but jumping online with people is a great time and that’s part of where my money went. This bullshit shouldn’t be happening.
Releasing patches and shit for stuff like this shouldn’t be happening because they shouldn’t have released a half-assed online mode to begin with. GTA and CoD4 aren’t the only ones to do this either. I’m noticing a trend of games that get released without having the kinks worked out because they just want the game to hit the shelves.
But back to the original issue, I should have to sign off of PSN just so I can play a single player game without it locking up or not loading at all.

Ok, but its only temporary. Rockstar will fix it, sooner than later im betting. In the mean time, ranting and raving wont fix anything and theres still a SHITLOAD of stuff to do in the regular game.

MP is pretty much the reason why I decided to pick GTA up. I guess they’re just rotating servers or some bullshit because I had MP/SP problems every other day since release and today has been quite good for a change.
And it is a huge problem because you can’t sign out of the network ingame unless you quit or unplug/disconnect your wireless connection to your ps3. It’s a uge hassle to quit a game, wait nearly a minute to have shit load and hope you don’t end up doing it again unless it was your choice instead of being forced to do it.
TDM is more fun when spawn distance is near. Medium isn’t bad but if it’s a short timed / low limit game, you end up spending way too much time looking for a car and getting back in action.
Honestly, I wish PSN had a small fee just to have dedicated servers; none of this gamespy bullshit.
I did go 14-0 in my last TDM match though.
edit - Doc, when you’re using the headset online, do you get audio output from it as well or is it strictly a mic only?
