yeah drivin is nice to me… i just switched my controller to “classic” mode an i was back in my zone. Everyone was inviting me last night but connecting was a bitch…literally. keep tryin cause last night was hilarious… fallin off my bike was comedy in itself. They really put work in on the mechanics an reactions of the character (ie flyin throw your window if you hit something too hard)

Does anybody know the full power of 6 stars yet? I got 4 stars from jacking this really cool bike from the airport.
Then i tried to cross the bridge to early i guess 6 stars son!!! as i attempt to make it across the bridge mad cops, swat, helicopters and then my boys showed up.
FBI!! In all black car with all four of them shooting at me rapidally while driving. Ive died multiple times just trying to cross over too early…lol.
Im guessing no army this time around 6 stars=the feds? plus every cop in the city will be on you untill you’re doa
I dont know what to do now. I actually made it to the other side by going under ground running on the train tracks and getting into a gun battle in the subway.
As soon as i got to the surface though b4 i could jack a car. The feds put more bullets in me than Denzel caught at the end of training day.
The game is crazy fun, some of the best money Ive spent.
Nothing beats crusin around at night to Ye’s Flashing Lights…its like Im driving my own car…lol.

Parked outside i got a blue corvette and that ninja looking motorbike.
Guess Imma have to progress the story more to open up more boroughs. Instead of getting killed going to them too early…lol.

I think the driving is awesome in this game, 10x better than GTA3. Going high speeds through traffic and then hitting the e break while turning to look mad nice is fun lol.
Also I think the online portion of the game is kinda broken right now. Live servers are getting beat down by all the people on gta. Whenever I made a party a few people couldn’t join. On top of that from the people that could join the party only a fraction would actually make it into a match with me. Some times I (host) was getting booted out of games as I enterd the lobby. At this point playing online with a group of friends is a hassle unless you just hang out in the lobby and wreck shit. I think for now until things are more stable I’m going to stick with the singleplayer.
With that said the online modes that I got to play were really fun. The singleplayer is awesome too. This really is a good game.
I got 6 stars crossin the bridge… the army comes out… oh they come. you gotta give em a good run first. here was my set up:
park a fast car or cop car right by the barricade… open ya map an set ya gps map up to get back home… cross the barricade on foot then soon as the 6 stars come up hop in ya car an BALL OUT!!! WARNING… do not get a convertible… they (the fbi boyz) can do head shots… do not try to go head up with the swat teams van… you will fly out the window after the crash (yeah pure comedy)… you have to drive damn good cause they aim at tires now…
the work they put in on this game is amazing… the details of ya car gettin bullet holes in it to you ridin ya car on 3 rims an one tire with the sparks eventually igniting your car (yeah)… thumbs up rockstar… definitely doing more exploring tonight…
oh an i got a mercedez and a hummer parked outside…
You guys must REALLY suck at driving, holy shit, because I’ve yet to run into ANY frustrations while driving, and I actually enjoy it far more then any GTA to date.
BTW, Time Square looks SICK. I took the chopper over the city amd was :amazed:
also note wit the fighting… i think you will gain more hand to hand combat skills later in the game kinda like san andreas. if u dont… then that is my only grip… the only one. im just letting the game flow right now… MORE WILL OPEN UP AS YOU MOVE ALONG PEOPLE. just flow with the game right now… hell when you were CJ in SA you couldnt fight worth shyt at first… then ya learned… you want hookers… as you advanced you saw the spots to go to (for what I don’t know).

EDIT: Everytime I tried to fight someone, I ended up pushing them…I didn’t pay it any mind til now. Then again, I am not going to do hand to hand if I don’t need to…whats the point of having the glock then? LOL
You think they wanted it to be less about random punching of people and more of the game? You know kiddies who play this pretty much just go around punching people all day long, then overtime collect weapons to rampage till dead.
Just to repeat the process over and over again forgetting there is an actually story, and missions to do.
So to make Nicco more “human” he doesn’t start fights or is a random hellraiser, that he is just a guy who wants dough. I can see someone at Rockstar doing that on purpose in order to prevent the media from going as apeshit than usual (which they will anyway) because before you can bash someone for hours in a pool of blood. Now…they just kind of lay there and it is not as joyful to do so. Rather just go to the next mission.
i look more into storyline… action… quality. its GTA an i enjoy GTA so i go into it open minded. not being extra picky.
in fact what trips me out is im surprised srk’s finest hasnt really tested the fighting style
if you lock in on your target (right bumper) hit the punch putton, cancel into dodge, rinse an repeat ive kicked ass easily… disarmed wit no problem… during the story it showed you that disarming the guy with the knife… oh an dont let me have a knife cause nico cuttin skills are slick… guess thats me cause i run a few missions cause those are the ones that teach you stuff…
oh an i love you can set someone up… punch em… run near a cop car an just stand there. take a blow an watch how the police get on that ass… straight arrested one dude for havin drugs on him. i busted out laughin…
Lol yeah that was great. I just seen your body come diving out of the chopper and you landed on one the empire state building ledges, didn’t even get to fall onto the manhatten streets lol. I tried to jump out after and somehow landed on top of a building too.
Oh btw with melee it only pushes when you’re not locked on to somebody. That’s how it is in the sp at least. Never tried to do anything but run people down in cars and shoot people in mp.
Is there any way to host your own game in ranked and player matches each time? So far I randomly was able to do it once and that’s it. Oh and if anyone ever want to get some games in, then just add me to your friends list and hit me up sometime.
Got the 360 version, only tried party mode and some NOOSE game mission, fun stuff so far.

I want to try out the “cover” system online, even going through the city in the lobby was fun as shit (is there a way to turn on cops?) I was straight killin folks for the lambos, got the RPG and when COD4 on some old lady…no cops what so ever…
Not sure about how to host your own game but you can create a party and as host of that you probably have more of a chance of getting host in a match.
Btw for such a fucked up city the cops come pretty fucking quick when you call 911 lol. The shit cops/random people say while driving is fucking great too.
Just turn it into a free mode game and it’s basically the lobby with cops.

I’m playing on ps3 for now and i was trying to get in on some online but i could get the multiplayer to work, anyone else having probs with it? Sorry if this was asked already, i’m being a little lazy cuz of finals to go look through the thread.
Guess this is another reason to why 360 is better than ps3, sure online is free but the servers don’t work nearly as good as xbox.
Been playing since the midnight launch on 360 with co-workers. The multiplayer is sooo good, I havent even gotten to play more than 2 missions. Plus its crazy, you get on Live and you got like 20 friends and like 19 says GTAIV and you get game invites before you even load the disc.
How can anyone play anything else?

Thats why I just got it on 360. I was gonna get it on both, then I thought about it; I’ll have many people on 360, and everyone is gonna have a mic, as opposed to probably having to wait on people, and like 2 people having a mic on PS3.
I mean, God forbid, but if I get RROD, then I’ll pick it up for that.
