I would love to see this thread consolidated.
I haven’t seen all his videos but going off that one… I think Desora plays a little too random at times, and he goes on a risky offensive when he’s in a way safer position to be fireball zoning.
It seem that in general where Desora might go off the rails a bit, all Bullcat would do in the same situation is just see deeper into the matrix. Both are great players but after watching piles of footage, it’s clear Bullcat is ahead of Desora.
I love it too… Arent you can just link all the videos into your Gouken Consolidated Matchup thread for each character?
I cant edit your thread, so nothing much i can do here…

Hey guys,
This is my first time posting here but I’ve been on this site plenty of times lol. Very informative and entertaining thread. Just thought i’d post up some of my vids…albeit nowhere near desora’s or bullcat’s caliber but who knows, some might find them entertaining.

sorry for all the links…hope its cool. And btw…i think Bullcat is the better gouken between him and desora. This, however, does not take anything away from desora as i feel he is the pioneer of great goukens everywhere.
K guys hope u like the vids. Feel free to comment, critique and pitch ni ur 2 cents. Always looking for ways to improve.
Thats the problem, each post can only hold a certain amount of data and all the links take up space so i cant add too much. I cant add shit else to the first post as it is
I can give someone the html format to complete it. Then I can have more space on the match up thread for other stuff related to the match ups. I can just point people to the new video thread in the spoilers since the video thread will be consolidated per the match ups. That way, there can be tons of match up videos that are easily accessible vs. having only a few. Most of the videos show Desora and ViperRx. There is no Bullcat, and none of you guys from here including myself and I’d like to see all of that.
I have an idea for the format and I can send it pre-loaded with the existing videos from the Match Up Thread, hopefully I won’t have to do this myself.
I wonders why when I watch Desora and ViperRx and Bullcat, either of them seem to be all that good? They do exactly the same kind of things I do. They falls for the same frame trap, get hits by the same mix up and get throws just as much. They just have extra ability on grasping opening with better read.
If that is the case. I wonders if Gouken is just one of the character that requires better player to win with.
Gouken isn’t as popular as most other characters (ie ryu, bison, Dudley etc) is due to the fact that it really isn’t easy to win matches with him. He has absolutely ZERO safe moves, horrible start ups, not so great AA, no wake up game whatsoever (it’s a guessing game), not the greatest normals etc etc. However he can inflict massive damage on any foe. If I count the number of comebacks I’ve seen ppl accomplish is unbelievable. So going back to ur post, yes gouken requires a lot of skill to play and master. It’s not his combos that are difficult to perform (because their quite easy), the problem comes with when and how to attack. I think most gouken users fall for the same tricks and that’s mainly because ppl are aware of his weaknesses.
For Gouken you need a really good read on your opponent. If you guess wrong you wont have a big chance.
You cant rely on the skills of Gouken, since they alone doesnt give you an advantage against your opponent.
There are many disadvantages if you u use his skills to often, because they are easy to punish.
The best Skill by far is absolutely his projectiles. Iam glad that they have mostly no recovery time which doesnt make it to hard to play with gouken. Still reading your opponent in a right way is really important when you use gouken.
And this is what separates people like Desora, BullCat, and ViperRX from the rest of the pack. It’s those things that you can’t teach is what makes them great with Gouken.
Agreed.
Also, I notices that after EX palm, they goes for knock down c.hk instead of a hk Tatsu, is there a specific reason for that? I didn’t know a c.hk can do much given Gouken’s mix up game after that isn’t exactly good. His jump in, cross up or not, still get reversal easily. What is the point here?
To get some mindgame up. There isnt much of a mindgame for gouken so every opportunity is good to open a mindgame. An knockdown is one option for it. Still you wont know if you will success with a mindgame, because it relies pretty much on the opponents guessing, but it can pay off really good.
I figure it’s because they want to concentrate on keeping pressure on that isn’t offered by ending a string with tatsu like with a reset or a hard knockdown. Also it’s important for Gouken’s game to push an opponent into the corner. So if instead of tatsu where they go into the corner but have the opportunity to leave while you’re rusing over, just palm them in the face and keep the good times rolling.
A lot of combos use by Bullcat, Desora & Viper, we can do it…
But i know one very important factor that make Bullcat possibly the best Gouken, is to know when to Block…
I discover that his main asset is his defense, not really his offense… Desora may have more flashy offense…
Bullcat is very patience to block his opponent attacks, and always ready to tag any throws… Opponent cant do shits with him, unless is command throw.
When the opponent attack more, more openings will be available. Thats when Bullcat attack and treat them with Mcdonald value add combos…
For me, the difference compare to Bullcat, is when i am under attack, i always try to do reversal such as kongo or incorrect spacing of hadouken… By the time i can do some damage to opponent, big chunk of my life is gone…
So focus more on your defense!
