Well aren’t you cool?
I like his cr mp+hado & cr hp+hado, seems like he is using it a lot… God like execution… A couple well timed ex flip to run away too…

would have been nice to see uryo use viper instead. I like the pressure desora was giving in the 2nd round.
great vids devastator and ejk21, keep it coming.

Still his Gouken isnt satisfying. And i wont say God like execution. He missed a FADC Combo in the last match against Gen and missed the Ultra after a backthrow oO. Although those opponents didnt seem really confident in those matches. I wanna see how Mago plays Gouken for serious against a hard opponent. I mean i didnt see any Anti Air move from those opponents, when Mago approached with some demon-kicks. You cant do such easy approaches against a good opponent.
^ I agree with this. There’s a lot more to Gouken than throwing fireballs and using the cr. mp block string / frame trap.
I’m still optimistic that he’ll get better with the character though… crossing my fingers. It seems like he’s playing Gouken like a Sagat with better foot speed, thus the forward dash > fire ball pressure.
Well, if u want to microscope his every moves, there are plenty of holes in his Gouken game.
Also everyone will have their opinions on how to play Gouken, well, there is no right or wrong way of playing Gouken… More of personal style and whether u are winning or losing more.
What i admire about his execution is he is able to dash forward and cr mp/hp and light hado consistently… I can do that if i am near the opponent, but not so if i need to dash forward from a distance… Sometimes the outcome is cr mp/hp and palm instead, as i wanted it to be light hado… So my execution is not as good as his…
For his other faults, i give him benefit of not so familiar with Gouken… In time he will get better with those timing…
Its not a complain about his playstyle. You can clearly see that his opponents are not really that confident.
How many times could mago jump in without getting any punish… I didnt see any Anti Air move against Mago. Also they didnt really counter or avoid those Demon Kicks of Mago, which isnt that hard if you know this matchup.
Those matches were to easy for mago to tell you clearly if he did a good job. Thats why i wanna see him, challenging some good players.
Otherwise you cant really pay attention to those matches, because it is getting boring, when a top player beats some lower level players.
Those forward dashes into cr.mp to lp-fireball arent so hard. During the dash move you only have to prepare for a cr.mp, by going down with your pad/stick, then making the quarter circle move. If you do the quarter circle move to early a palm comes out. So it is only a matter of timing.
Well, is not his fault that the opponents are weak… We will make do with these videos until those high level opponents appear or Mago use it seriously
It is surely his fault. He can contact his pro friends to do some casuals during the GodsGarden Stream. But he didnt.
Also those online matches in GodsGarden are still show matches. The Top Players who are creating those matches are always picking a new Account with 0 Points when they are arriving at GodsGarden Stream. It isnt a wonder that he only meets bad players at those streamed matches.
If he would take his real account, he would definitely meet some better players. Thats another reason why it is only a show match.
Iam not against Show Matches. Many of them are really entertaining and funny.
But doing a show match with a char he hasnt really mastered at all is a little ridiculous.
The most people really think, that his Gouken is the answer for everything, but then they are forgetting that this stuff is only a show and not serious. Which creates a fake sight of his gouken skill.
I still wanna see some serious stuff going on. Mago is indeed a really nice player but on the same way he hasnt really convinced me, that he really wants to main Gouken. The only stuff i saw with gouken by Mago, was some raping action against low level players.
mago doesnt have to put on a tournament performance every time he plays.
that video was just some friends having fun playing street fighter.
Rulez, i believe the previous stream where Tokido and Mago (where he did not use Gouken) use their own Gamertag… I remember his Sagat was 10k BP or something when i watched the stream…
Anyway, i respect ur opinion, ultimately we all just want to see more of Mago takes on Gouken… Hopefully sooner rather than later…

Watching that Bison match was painful. Gouken just seems so helpless against some of the cast.
bison isnt as annoying if you just resign yourself to blocking a lot.
he is still one of the hardest fights, but if you are in down back, the only thing he can do is throw you.
if you wait for an opening to jump or kongo, you are probably getting baited.
just block and poke at him until you can safely cross him up to get out of the corner.
i play against geom dc hustle’s bison a lot.
if you want to challenge yourself, get him to play a set with you.
he crushes me.
Agreed with this on Bison tactics. If you’re in down back, he can only throw, focus, or attempt to cross up. If he’s maxed out the zero distance between you, then you’re looking at a throw or focus. If he’s got some distance, most like either going to go for scissor kick shenanigans or a cross up.
I fought a decent Bison last Friday who loved to poke at me with Devil’s Stop/Devil’s Reverse Tactics and mix me up with those. He’d rarely use Scissor Kick block strings.
I made the mistake of allowing him to bait me into jumping or kongo-ing out and that’s when I got whacked hard. I should have realized that those tactics can be pretty useless if you block/tech. Afterwards, just take Raun’s advice and press the advantage HARD when he messes up during other tactics.
