This clip illustrated to me how similar our play styles are - even down to our poke choices, which suggests to me some common styles for Gouken are beginning to emerge now that people ‘know’ him.
I’m curious though to see if there any any other unique approaches. An example of this is when SF2 came out I found myself pretty handy with Guile and did quite well in arcades. One day out of the blue I played a gent (also using Guile) who exhibited a crazy offensive game riddled with pokes and standing combos to maximise his damage potential - it opened my eyes up to the fact that while common and dominant play styles for characters emerge, there is definitely room for others.
Its actually good to see others putting in hard slogs to take Blanka down. I’m pretty much convinced he is Gouken’s most difficult match-up. Nice use of the Focus as an anti-air to maximise your grabs for damage too 
I find myself countering Blankas a bit more as an anti-air and tagging them with a super to get a leg up. He is till my toughest match though!

I thought the videos from SiYko demonstrated solid play. If Shogun Assasin’s play is at another level then it has to be watched.

I would love to record videos, but i have no idea what im doing. If someone wants to pm the things i’d need to buy, ill start recording matches. Conversely, the championship mode should let us record matches. So thats always plan B.

i want to start off by saying thanks for the videos you’ve been putting up- they’ve really helped a lot.
my question is how do you pull off the:
ex dash palm => hurricane kick in-
the jumping fp => standing fp => ex dash palm => hurricane kick combo without using the focus cancel?
is it just a matter of dashing forward really quick? coz i’ve been trying for a while in training mode and i can’t seem to get there in time O.o;
and does it do more damage than the ex dash palm => f.dash palm combo? (i haven’t been able to check and compare coz i can’t pull off the damn hurricane kick combo -_-

Im not Sikyo, but:
You input the dash before your opponent starts falling. It helps to get used to the timing by spamming dash right after the second hit launches your opponent into the air so you can see when you can and cannot dash.
Same thing applies to comboes, you dont even have to FADC into ultra either.
It is all about speed.

I have no idea what championship mode is, does it allow you to record demos? How do you get those recordings viewable online?

you will wiff after the 1st hit of the tatsu if u spam the dash…
I should be on later tonight. Championship modes supposedly the DLC thats comign out in the near future, one of the new features is replays. none of this is a certainty.
And, yes spammign dash makes it hit once but itll show you the correct timing you need to dash.
Also, using the Tatsu after an EX Palm will give you alot more meter than just another Palm.
Very good games here… we had about 30 matches, although I only recorded a couple of the beginning ones, because I wanted to preserve our styles. By the end it was more of exploiting each others weaknesses… especially his weakness to FA and my weakness to demon flip.

thx for posting. I been practicing my Gouken EX palm -> combos on my friends and pwning them. Gouken is a fun char to play once you get the feel of his offense and defense capabilities.
Oh man, so many times I jumped into that FA. Towards the end I was throwing you out of it but, that was beating me pretty bad. Its like the yellow flash was suckng me in like flashing lights. Too bad you didnt get some of the later matches. There was some good comboes in them. And somehow we we were perfecting each other. Good shit…
