Denjin doesn’t work out for me because it sucks and I already know to not use my ultra like a moron. Using a bad ultra to learn to not use your ultra is silly, just stop using your ultra.

I didn’t miss your point at all, you misunderstood me. I’m saying Denjin doesn’t open up anything, because the only thing that makes you play differently when using Denjin is you. Denjin doesn’t make Gouken’s fireballs faster or hit harder, they don’t make his defense any better, it’s just an ultra. The only thing that changes is your mindset. If you need a bad ultra to change the way you play then there’s a problem.

Using Denjin Hadouken doesn’t make you play better, it just makes his okizeme a bit scarier.
Those Mago matches with Gouken are a little old. I wanna see how he actually choose the character for a longer time.
Cant still believe that he really wants to main Gouken, which isnt that surprising cause i feel a little connection between Fei Long and Gouken, thats why i got Fei as another good Char.
The way Mago played Gouken is a bit like the CPU, keep throwing out hadouken, and pretty fast too. Maybe the training from using Sagat… LOL…
But I guess is a good way to zone opponents before they get in for serious business…

Mago doesn’t know Gouken deep enough to let us learn anything useful. What I see in these videos, it is not Gouken. It is Mago. It is him using the fundamental skills at his max.

This coming from the guy who says picking Denjin makes you play better. He’s still new to Gouken and you expect him to be godlike with him already? Calm down, we all know you have sand in your vagina.

I’m not even dickriding but are you really gonna judge someone’s Gouken with two videos? If anything, I bet he would scrub most Gouken mainers with Gouken even though he doesn’t main him just with fundamentals. :\
Yeah, but that’s mainly because Gouken’s worst match up is himself. I’d say he’d rape some lower level Goukens on his knowledge of the game alone and the fact that he is probably very good at teching throws.
If he ever gets a grasp of Gouken’s fine details I think he would do better than a lot of us expect. It can take a while to learn all the match-ups and even longer to master all of his character specific bs so I want to give it time before passing judgement.
As of right now its nothing special to see, but it will be interesting to see how he develops. I think we will be able to learn a lot from him, just like we learn a lot from each other here. I think we should rally around anyone who chooses Gouken, especially bc its so few of us and even fewer of us that play at a high level.
Edit: With that being said, he’d better learn how to use cr. fp and cl. standing hk on jump in’s quick, or he won’t be playing Gouken very long, I can assure you of that.
