Hello, i’m an aspiring gouken player and I have a quick question about these combos videos.
One thing that I am repeatedly seeing is that people dash after using fireball and then continue their combos. Is this an FADC or not? I can’t really tell, sometimes this seems to be so, sometimes not.
Any help greatly appreciated!

I think they are “good”, sucks he never managed to follow up Ultra 2.
It’s possible to hado then link another normal attack mid-screen but you have to be damn near point blank range, the best follow up would be cr. roundhouse > meaties, or you could cr. lk, or cr. mp > a demon flip mix up or another fireball but these attacks wouldn’t be combos, only the hado and the following attack would register as a combo. Cr. HP would work too, but it would depend on the opponents hit box as to if it would land or not.
B/c the characters move back when hits register you couldn’t cr. fp > hado > another normal attack without an FADC after the Hado. If you have them in the corner you can do all sorts of shit with Gouken, b/c the opponent can’t get pushed back any further and it’s easier to land follow up attacks.
Maybe it’s just me, but the above links sent me to my home page on youtube.
Hmm, so we can confirm that demonflip divekick is blockable low now. They better have given the old man some love on his normals, else I’m probably gonna be switching it up come super. Completely wrecks what little pressure he had from demonflip
This is very saddening. The fact the demon flip kick, made you stand is what made all of the following options more dangerous, hopefully they made the grab a little more friendly to compensate for opponents wanting to block low all the damn time. Time to start perfecting the demon flip throw on crouching opponents… and the shitty thing is the air parry recovery looks the damn same see 2:22 of the vid.
I won’t cry wolf, if they made all the air attacks in the game blockable high or low, I guess that would be fair, but it just seems out right stupid b/c you have to block any jump in attack high. WTF

In the Honda video check out the in air tatsu recovery at 6:19 seems like the recovery is a tad bit faster. Not much but every little bit helps.
Some things I noticed:
I’m posting this in the SSFIV thread as well, since that’s probably where this discussion belongs…
Is it me? Or in that Mullah vs. Agent Hoy (Honda v. Gouken) video, EX Demon Flip no longer hones in on opponents? Maybe not just at close ranges? He did it twice starting at a little before 4:50 and it went over and behind Honda rather than what it does normally in Vanilla.
You are right. I’m guessing that’s probably not the result of the buttons used to activate the DF…but it would be cool if the 2K you used determined the effect of the DF.
So what would this mean for using EX DF against Ryu’s EX tatsu, or just as a wake up option in general? (I tried getting my head around it, and it seems like it wouldn’t be a very good thing…)
Hopefully you can control the direction like Blanka or something like that.
I see what you’re saying, but I’m inclined to believe that Hondas hundred handslap/moving forward threw it off.
Edit nvm: I see their is a second vid. Not sure what to believe.
early build… ghost in the machine
1st to 10 against PlayinCODNaked’s c. viper:
props on that set, a good viper is always fun to go up against.
Been waiting for this beast of a set! Good shit man I really enjoy watching your play style.
Also in your 4th set “http://www.youtube.com/user/raunwynn?feature=mhw5#p/u/0/9DfWnik3Thg” I LOVED the timing on your ultra at 1:10 that was freaking priceless haha.
It was a really close set and definitely did not look like an easy match for us Goukens , We should all be afraid of skilled Viper because their mind games hurt a LOT.
Let us know when your next debut is comming!
lol dont give away the endings brother!
PFFT you shouldn’t worry about people hearing the ending. Me personally if I were to skip these just because I know the end of the set, it would be my loss because I would have missed some killer game play tactics.
And I hope that goes for everyone else, but for respect I will edit my previous post for you :)!
Nice set for sure, very close. I find that crouch teching with c.mk will beat out the Viper overheads. I’m not sure if that’s better than better than c.lk dodging burning kicks though.
