you know, i am not sure there is a proper way to play against seth.
the character can do anything, so i guess the only thing you can do is try to play against the player.
when i do these first to 10 videos, i try to find players that beat me.
rob can definitely beat me, so there was a lot for me to learn from him.
i noticed that he rarely used the long low fierce.
i even tried to anticipate it a few times with low counter, but he never threw it.
i dont think rob likes to zone very much.
it felt like he was more interested in rushing me down.
Yeah he does rushdown, I’ve played him a few times. Just saying that it is something Gouken is very susceptible to unfortunately (the st.fp).
I love your vids lately raun. On the subject of getting hit by seth posted a page back, yeah getting hit by him doesn’t do a ton of damage but it is annoying and he can stun the shit out of you to combo you again where you will actually take some damage. On the other hand if he fucks up and you get an ex palm combo (especially in the corner) he will usually be stunned or dead.

Most of the round you’re just getting raped, but for every mistake you dish out 40%-75% damage. Ouch.

Why do you think Gief is so bad? You can out-footsie him, always anti-air him with lk tatsu, EX tatsu or ultra, and play fireball games (as long as he’s not looking for EX Banishing Flat through fireballs).
Akuma is way worse than Gief.
she is the hardest matchup for gouken in my opinion.
she can mix up gouken’s counters from the air (she can bypass high counter with low cannon strikes and high cannon strikes are too slow for wakeup ex counter), she is dangerous to tech against, every time she touches you it leads to knock down, she does giant damage, jumping against her is pretty tough (air throw, hooligan airthrow and cannon spike shut down so many options with each use) and she seems to blow through fireballs well enough to invalidate them entirely.
i am waiting for draykaden to do my cammy set.

goukens worst matches imo are GIEF number 1 and sagat 2nd.
i dont care how good you think you are with gouken any of you, you wont beat jan michaels or vegita xs zangief.

The only live stream that have Gouken players that I know of is frameadvantage.com (Shine and Osiris) I was wondering if anyone knows of any other live streams that have decent gouken players?
can’t agree with gief being the toughest battle. He’s tough no doubt, but cammy just shuts Gouken down imo. You can play footsies Zangief, spam the fuck out of cr. fierce, standing fierce, block green hands and don’t spam fireballs at close distance when he’s got meter and you’re half way to beating him. Fighting a competent cammy on the other hand is such an uphill battle it isnt’ even funny. Goukens saving grace ex demonflip seems useless in some ways that would work on other characters. You can’t neutral jump against her, she’s just all around bad news. I don’t believe what the tier lists say in regards to the console characters, as it has Rose as a bad matchup, something I don’t believe at all. And cammy is supposedly 5-5, which I have to call bullshit on.
I have to agree that zangief isn’t the toughest match. You could easily just sit back and play the guessing game throwing hadokens. If he gets close or green hands his way over to you, just demon flip or air tatsu to the other side. Not my strategy but when I’m playing a lag-advantage zangief, that’s definitely what I’ll be doing the entire match.
Personally, cammy is my toughest match as you can see if you watch the video I posted above.
Why is Cammy so hard for you guys? AA with EX Tatsu, Kongo, lk tatsu, or ultra. On wakeup just block or backdash. Oh no, Cammy’s fearsome dive kick mixup that loses to OS cr.lp +cr.lk + cr.mk Honestly Cammy can’t beat a good defensive player. As long as you punish unsafe shit (like EX Tatsu’ing/cr.hp’ing meaty hooligans, backthrow -> ultra or cr.hp xx EX palm on unsafe drills, dash cr.hp combo on blocked Cannon Spike, EX Tatsu or ultra’ing Spinning Backfist on reaction) Cammy can’t do anything besides play footsies and try to punish your fireballs on reaction. If you keep her grounded you have the advantage because your pokes are better and you have a fireball. Just eliminate jump-ins from your game entirely and only Demon Flip if it’s a safe setup or you are setting up an air parry.
In order for Cammy to win the player has to outplay you. They can’t just play to their character’s strengths. The only thing that scares me about Cammy is random Cannon Spike FADC ultra. If you don’t play patient and rely on yomi then yeah you’re gonna lose. But that’s just how Gouken is to me.
Good giefs eat gouken. Most good giefs consider it a 7-3 in his favor.
Sagat isn’t TERRIBLE until you get cornered than it’s really really homosexual as cr. LK is your only answer to knees and that’s hard to do consistently on reaction.
Gouken worst matchup really is probably gief though, you can’t throw almost any gadoukens against good giefs cuz EX green hand knocks gouken down even if it hits his extended pinky finger which is like 3/4ths screen range.
raunwynn you are ass… really… stop making videos… thats all you do. you dont go to tournaments, all you do is go against a really good player, lose 50 times, and beat them once THEN you upload that one vid LOLOLOL.
