As to those counters- People will say he is overpowered because he can counters supers and certain ultras. It is more of a guessing game with gouken than anything elses

love the jump straight up mix up, i totally would be going for back throw every time…
Yes the back throw is a pretty powerful option but you shouldn’t primarily use it. Especially when they are anticipating it. Its seems to be as feared as Zangief’s pile-driver.
I’ve noticed lately when they get in they jump out or really try their foot games on you. Ken/ryu players will consistently try to zone you with the crouching forward fireball mix ups. The Jumping mix up is legit I think when you can land a fierce punch, Ex palm strike for good deal of damage and juggle opportunities.
I have no idea what you’re talking about. That Gouken is pretty garbage. =\
He misses a ton of really great opportunities. He hits with focus, and then whiffs and standing fierce over the collapsing opponent? He flubs ultra. blah blah.
It seemed like a good player but somebody who has only played about 3 rounds with Gouken and doesn’t have a single thing in muscle memory or “lizard brain reaction”, yet.
Actually, I think his general gameplay is pretty good. He misses alot of damage opportunities but I felt his general play was pretty damn solid.
Edit: Anyways, take what you want from the video. I thought it was good enough to warrant sharing.

perhaps he WAS someone who only played a few rounds with gouken, or like me, he uses a 360 controller and his timing isn’t spot on as a result. Overall his gameplay was solid.
