i started watching all your vids but i began noticing a trend, you are basically beating up scrubs.
i watched 6 of them and it was the same thing every time.
you beat up a scrub then land a cute counter on a terrible ryu super fireball or something.
for entertainment or for my own education as a gouken player i did not find these videos relevant.
if you would like some advice or a critique, i can tell you a couple of things about this one:

you are beating up a scrub rufus but i noticed two things that i think will improve your game against him.

  1. throw mp. fireball. a lot.
there is some advice on the rufus forum where they are talking about different ways to trick gouken players into abandoning heavy mp. fireball spam.
hp. fireball is not as good because it doesnt hit rufus in the head when he uses galactic tornado.
also, it is practically impossible for rufus to jump over an mp. fireball and you can follow it with a palm.

  2. i dont think it is a good idea to follow back throw with ex tatsu.
it barely does more damage than hk. tatsu and it wastes a precious bar that you could be using for an ex palm rush, ex demon flip, defensive ex tatsu or super cancel.
even using 2 bars for an occasional fadc out of blocked palm for a trick is better than using a bar for less than a jab hit of damage off back throw.

oooooo! We got Kraiden! Please make some Gouken videos with some of that awsome narration you have in your Abel videos!

I think you’re playing great! I think I’ll take some of those tricks into my own game, like throwing out a light fireball in close range then throwing out a heavy right after and catching them as they jump in.

But you should post some video where you loose if you want to get more useful comments. Because as it is we see you play really agressively and making your opponents guess, but we only see what happens when they guess wrong. What happens if they turn the match in their favour? Are you able to adapt to that?

(edit) Just saw that Sagat match (number 11?) And that was pretty much what I asked for. Good job, you have more nerve than me.

Do you have any videos where you play people who aren’t terrible?

I watched part of the Sagat/Rog videos…in any case, you didnt have any kind of mixup game and you rely too much on the c.lp to throw setup which is just not going to work over and over and over again against people who know what they are doing.

hey guys i appreciate all the comments unfortunately its hard to know if the person is scrub or not or if they are good and just taking a gamble by guessing what im doin and getting it wrong. i will post up some videos where i lose soon. i play in a ranbat every week in my area and ill see if can get my matches recorded, there a few people i tend to lose to there. again i appreciate the comments and im still learning as i go. i seem to have problems thinking of when i should throw different mix up out there. i know i still lack some basics knowledge such as spacing etc etc so hopefully it will all come with time

Don’t take it hard. One way you can tel for sure if someone sucks as Rog/Sagat is if they can’t throw a single block string

thanks i will make sure too look for that, it just sucks thinking your getting better only to find that the players your having matches with are not that good lol

you have to be careful when you play against inexperienced players.
you might start developing tricks that blow them out but are not necessarily sound ideas.
when you try to use that tool set against a strong player, you will get smoked by your own habits.

yo gouken players heres a hyped up grunde match of me playing Gouken,( KEEP IN MIND I HAVENT PLaYED IN 3 MONTHS) …umm but i think i played ok and tips or suggestions pls let me know, and dnt worry i know i missed a few stuff thats BnB 4 the big guy…well enjoy

A lot of what you’re doing is fine. I do have a few suggestions though.

Back throwing: Only use this if they’re in a position that they can’t tech out of it. It’s extremely easy for people used to teching throws to get out of it. Keep in mind, if it’s working, keep doing it.

Demon flip: Try mixing in throw with it. The point isn’t to grab the person, it’s more to reset your animation and be able to do something else when you’re on the ground. I’ve overshot my flip several times on purpose to do this and throw right after. A;so consider using it after a blocked FP as it causes a reset to the guessing game and doesn’t leave you vulnerable like his palm.

vs cammy: On that one match I noticed she was doing her backfist a lot. An MP fireball will stuff it.

Vs Balriog: LP palm is safe in at a distance. It also breaks his EX dashes, stuffs his headbutt and can beat or trade with poorly timed TAPs.

After an EX palm: Consider dashing and doing a tatsu unless it’s Sim or Fuerte. In the corner you’re better off doing an lp palm, fireball juggle to ultra or reset for another mixup.

thanks i appreciate the info Meiz only one thing though the tatsu after ex palm i do only if i want the damage but i find that when im doin dash punch after it i tend to dizzy an opponent faster, its weird, i dont know if palm does more stun damage

This was okay in terms of technique though.

Just a few things:

1.) @ 00:25 you empty cross over, back throw --> palm. In my personal opinion, always Tatsu instead of palm.

Palm is just obsolete in this case: More hits, more damage and the timing is reliable. Also, knock-back distance of Tatsu = knock back distance of Palm. I never palm out of a back-throw, personally.

2.) Follow-up juggle potential on the j.mp if you execute the j.mp very early in the jump. You’ll catch one hit b/c it’s late, and you can follow up with palm, tatsu, cr.hp --> demon mixup or s.hp --> demon mixup. Someone correct me on this if I’m wrong?

3.) @ 01:29 the hp.Hadou could have been potentially been followed up with a demon flip --> sweep. This hits falling opponents. I might be a little off on the timing, but it looked like it’d connect, always a useful little follow-up to an anti-aired opponent via fireball if you want to cover distance safely and somewhat reliably.

Other than that, you look good to me. I like your anti-air game, it’s good as well.

Your short game is better than mine, it’s something I need to work on. Thanks to SiYkO for that, his short game is real solid, check some of his vids.

Gouken 80% combo :rofl::rofl:

If you want to look at just pure silly combos, perform this against Seth in the corner:
Jumping HP -> Standing HP -> EX Facepalm -> EX Hadoken -> Ultra

I believe that’s right around 95-99%. Again, it’s against Seth, but it’s all possible. Gouken has to be one of the highest damage combo characters in the game and especially one of the nastiest if you are against him and pinned in the corner.

This combo works against anybody - I use it regularly. Gouken needs the high damage - in a neutral setting he is at a disadvantage against most of the cast.

My point about the combo: look at how much it is against Seth – it’s just a sliver of life left. That’s a B&B combo in the corner (you can get more fancy if you want), but the damage against Seth (even WITH the scaling for # of hits) is silly.

Not always true. Watch yourself against characters with a smaller body/hit-box, even in the corner. Sometimes Tatsu will whiff. I know it has nothing to do with the combo you mentioned but I was just throwing it out there.

Also, an Abel ULTRA’d me out of a close s.hp XX Ex.Tatsu

That’s supposed to cancel!!! I know I didn’t miss the cancel, I do that shit in my sleep!
