Your video thread was closed because we already have a dedicated, stickied and active thread dedicated to Gouken videos.
This is the same for all character specific threads and is a standard of sorts. You were reinventing the wheel and adding fragmentation to discussion.
If you want to play the ‘illogical’ card perhaps you should reconsider your argument.
If you wish to consolidate all existing videos, collect them all and submit them in one post (in the video thread) and ask the thread originator or a moderator to submit this collection to the thread’s original post, OR, edit your own post (in the video thread) with the collection as you discover more.
Long time reader, first time poster. I had to register just to say that, although that Ryu wasn’t a top player, you’re probably the best Gouken I’ve seen so far.

Im just especially harsh to newcomers trying to make a name for themselves by spewing out bullshit theory Fighter concepts and flooding the already relatively organized board to say …“I’m new here and have some new bullshit to supersede the threads that already have foundation”.

$hogun A$$a$$in, you have the best demon flip setups/mixups I’ve seen so far. I want to learn to do that more often, especially with the j.strong setups. I don’t see many Gouken players do that.

Hey Phunkism, around 35 seconds of your vs. Bison video, you got the c.strong to combo into hadouken. From the vids I’ve seen so far, most of the time, it doesn’t combo and is just used for a pressure string. Was it something like a link or a chain or does it normally combo?
Also from most of the videos I don’t see that many counters against jumpins or poking strings. Is it because you’re not reacting fast enough for a counter input or do you guys think that there are more effective tools like c.fierce?
Without looking at the vid (i’m at work) i probably caught him reacting and he was trying to do standing rh or scissor kick. Only thing a fireball will combo off of is a standing or crouching fierce. You can combo a c.strong with lp palm if you’re close enough though if you get blocked prepare for dp fadc ultra against shotos. That generally goes for any blocked palm.
As for counters, I use them sparringly. Most people know how to play against gouken and use empty jumps and throw you to death. I can usually land one a match before they wise up.
yeah, after watching your vids, i noticed you do this after blocked palm a lot, and it seems to work well. in the last two days, i started incorporating this technique. it seems to catch them 60+ % of the time. as a side, appreciate your new vids. thx.
