…did you notice how he’s just spamming down-back for a reflex-parry/counter? that’s strange of him fishing for the high or low counter. 
that was a very “come and get me” style gouken.
i prefer “death from above” style.

i agree actually. kind of a weak way of playing. Extremely passive, waiting for an opening to through in an ultra to turn the tide of the battle. then using fireballs to bait him to make a mistake.

A lot of people kept saying that it was a great comeback at the end, but I realize I should have never put myself in that position to begin with. I played like shit in the 2nd and most of the 3rd round until the end of course.
nice videos phunk. I think I have a very similar playstyle to you, but your execution is obviously a lot better then mine. I’m stuck at around 2500 GP right now and I have trouble winning consistently enough to win a G2 final. Do you have some videos of you against blankas, zangeifs, and vegas? Those are the trio I have the most trouble with. Maybe against a balrog too?

there is no “correct” way to play Gouken (just like any other character); if it works, it works.
Ill go out on a limb and say…that Im not watching the majority of these videos until someone on SRK can actually beat me consistently in their Gouken Mirror Matches…Where is the competition!

How do I view the vid?
I have clicked the button next to the screen size option but no vid appears on the next page.
I just clicked the big “Play” button that showed up int he video pane. It’s a pretty good Gen too.
Edit: I am a little confused by some of his choices though, like around 2:20 or so he does FA2 (absorb) DC c.MP tatsu FADC c.HP xx Demon. It would have made more sense just to s.HP/c.HP xx EX Palm (he obviously has the meter) then attempt dash c.MP/c.HP/s.LP in to the demon. Would have taken less meter and done more damage.
also around 2:30 he lands ANOTHER FA2 and goes for back throw c.HP demon flip? Would have made much more sense to just BNB off of the FA since Gen was close to death anyways.
Yeah - I like his style, but he uses a lot of really weird moves. He uses a TON of s.hp when c.hp would be much better from everything I know.
