you guys are being a bit harsh saying his gouken performance was fundamentally bad, dissapointing and unforgivable.
i thought he did okay, if he landed the j.lk cross under reset or kongo x super then everyone would have been praising the aggressive mixup. not all people keep a level head in tournaments either, i’ve never heard of this guy, maybe he’s just shakey when under pressure.
im not sayin that the guy is a scrub or anything im just saying that at key moments in the set he made some big mistakes that cost him the set. imo when its tourny time all the flashy stuff goes out the window and you should focus on max guaranteed damage
yeah cut the guy a break, when i went to my first tournament i messed up a lot because i was nervous, many of the mistakes where round winning ones…the shit happens, he had the right ideas & you could see it in his face whenever he dropped something that he knew he had messed up. hell sometimes even online i get all worked up when fighting someone really good & mess up
Lacey is solid, he missed some major opportunities but his fundamentals are definitely strong. You see how effective he was in keeping rufus out, how many jumping strongs he got in? Maybe tourney nerves got to him, but he shouldn’t have been trying to style on his opponent though.
This! Lacey is a strong player but he did do a few things I did not agree wih. First off ULTRA 2 is a big No no. Wait for AE with that one. Second, Wasting meter like with the FADC after ex palm to jumping light. He should have went for a Jumping mp Stand HP reset and dashed in his face to bait out a move or something along the lines of that. Or he could have done a simple palm to place him in the corner. Tourny pressure is something else though. You have to keep a cool head.
ULTRA 2 why why why why!! He was goodlike with the jumping though. Anyway it was nice to c some gouken tourny place.
Bullcat is hands down my favorite gouken player!! getting down with the standing mp goodness and rushing down GOUKEN NO SCARE!!! Sad that he lost though.
yawwn at cody’s rufus, nice to see lacey mixing things up a bit now and then but such a shame he didnt pick up on all the constant wake up reversals, and cracking a lot, ex palm fadc medium tatsu to try and finish a round?? letting his fingers think there instead of his head haha was extremely gutted to see him loose to that dull opponent

very good, very interesting, you are a master of pokes/normals/safe jumps; only critisism i could make is you wait for the super a lot, need to use goukens ex a lot more, seems every hit is lp lk lp lk lk, get some ex going son, finish rounds a lot quicker, i dont understand how you are only 5k, i’m 10k + and you seem a lot more compfortable with gouken than me, take advantage of the blue bars sonny, thats all i can say, very very good though i enjoyed those matches, and would be interested in fighting you for a bit tbh

@ goukensaniceguy - thanks man. im actually at 10k+ on my psn account lol since i have a t.e. stick for that system i focused more on that because my s.e. stick for my xbox broke so i took a break from xbox so that’s why my bp is where its at. until i fixed my SE stick. feel free to add me if i forget to add you. im sure i’ll learn a thing or two from you.
nice vids. your fundamentals are very good you just need to work on finishing your combos and making sure you do max damage everytime they make a mistake. just for reference in the another rose vid, you punished rose for a mistake in the corner but you droped an easy corner combo this was around the 40 sec mark. if you stopped the combo for postioning you could have done a lp fb to sweep, keeping rose in the corner and setting up a safe jump. you could have also comboed into denjin in that same combo. just pratice on max punishing other peoples mistakes and matches become easier and faster for u. saves memory on your computer lol.

LOL man don’t worry about me or other guys who criticized your gameplay. We know just as well as you do that sometimes we just have mush-for-brains. Take a look at some of my vids, and you will see that I make some boneheaded decision too. Like Nagmere said, you basically played a perfect round. No scrub can do that. But yeah, denjin…I tried to love and make it work. But Shin Sho is just too beefy lol.
