I love EX tatsu as anti-air on people who jump over fireballs. Wish I could do that reliably. What’s the trick to it, I wonder? Just… intentionally never hold back after throwing a fireball? Maybe hold forward for a split second and then do HCB for the hurricane? I bet if you start your HCB at down-forward you’ll still get counter though. :\
Guess I’ll just have to wait for AE when they get rid of the dumb input overlap.

If you look at the inputs, he was trying to EX Air Tatsu, but fucked up.
Will this work on crouching opponents?
The best thing about cross up or close to ground air Tatsu is that it counts as an overhead attack. :tup:
@nevillebamshew, awesome stuff man. Thanks for sharing. I tried this with lp.Gohadouken so many times and now I realize why that doesn’t work but mp.Gohadouken does. It’s because it takes longer to reach the opponent. :tup:
I tried vs Gouken himself… Crouching opponents wont work… the fireball will miss…
Does the fireball whiff if they block the cr.hp while crouching? Because if it does it makes the combo not very useful as a hit-confirm because it’s unsafe on block. Otherwise I’ll start using mp hado in my blockstrings against these characters.
This could also be useful for FADC combos - giving you more time to hit the cr.hp/s.hp after the FADC.
you can use this move on all characters if you change the distance before you do the cr.HP.
The real problem behind this is, you cant hitconfirm the fireball when the opponent is crouching. It doesnt matter if the cr.HP hitconfirms or not.

Doesn’t work on everyone I’m afraid. There are crossup setups to make it work on more of the cast (Bison, Ryu and Ken come to mind), but some characters it just will not work on because:
*A) They’re not tall enough during their hitstun animation.
B) Their hitbox is too big and the fireball hits too soon regardless of how it’s spaced.*
There are counter hit setups for the cr.fierce that also allow it to work on more of the cast, try it out. If they’re crouching, yes, it will miss. Think of it more as a two-bar punish, because the combo is not a setup; it’s just a punish. What you do before that is the setup.
Doesn’t seem to have been a awful lot of new developments found by others. I’ll post more new stuff if I get time to film it.
interesting stuff. But i think this is only for being fancy. I cant find a situation for this where i couldn’t have done something better and more practical. But this is definitely interesting. Good stuff neville
