She’s broken. Her u1 is technically a grab so can’t be kongod like everyone else with a fireball ultra. Really good zoning, absolutely zero recovery on fireballs, a half screen grab damn near, rekkas…it’s ridiculous

I alts Poison for quite a bit and wrote a bunch on the Poison specific thread already. Just put yourself in the right zone. Poison biggest weakness is that she can’t go forward fast. Her jump is shortish and her forward dash is slow. Try to corner her without getting within her ex chicken wing-like move range and you should be able to do fireball war with her.

i also alt her in the moment. her best option on wake up and under pressure seems to be b.dash and backflip as her non-ex dp is not particularly good. if you can force that with smart offense, outspacing the chicken wing and anti airing jump attempts, she corners herself quite often.

a lot of her meaty hp hado pressure on wake up is at risk with smart counter or extatsu if you not just guess.

her zoning is indeed pretty good if mix up and can provide for hurtfull juggles, her ex hado is extremly fast…

with smart meter mgt she has a respectable comeback and burst dmg potential with eiter cr.mk x ex rekka - u1 or cr.mk x rekka1 x rfa - u2.

Gouken’s UCW Denjin does 100% stun when it hits as combo. I think it’s BUG…Capcom doesn’t test about this old man? Or have they took many time to Chinese young boy?

did they mess with the launch of ex palm? i believe the window afterwads is slighter tighter. maybe its just me but it feels a bit different…

I think she’s not really that good, but that’s just me.

her rekkas are unsafe. her fb is great, I gotta say, but her AAs are shit. her wake up is a bit caca and her dp is not really that great.

I think she is very solid and right up any current Rose players alley. She has great pokes and can even punish easily someone as squirrelly as Blanka

HK tatsu is bullshit. I’ve had MULTIPLE drops on a number of different characters on what should have been a properly timed backthrow to tatsu. Granted, I never throw anybody anymore so it’s kind of not that huge of a deal, but guaranteed damage is almost better than wakeup garbage you have to deal with now. Either way, one of the many “plain” moves that’s still garbage and doesn’t work like normal, when you have crap like Yun’s shoulder that has a hitbox in front and behind him plus Decapre’s srk that has 8 million frames of invincibility and hits you from anywhere. Then you also have our basic blockstring cl.mp that pretty much every move in the game mashes out of it so now we have to be even less reckless for damage.

That said after almost two weeks, ex tatsu I think has moved Gouken up to middle to MAYBE middle upper tier. Cammy is still a disaster. Blanka and Adon are still really tough. Juri and Dudley are MUCH more difficult, and Dhalsim seems closer to even. T-Hawk might be top tier and went from a 7-3 to closer to a 5-5. The only consolation prize is that Sagat now gets wrecked by the old man, and Hugo is in the 6.5-3.5’ish range after going about 6/3 against the #4 and easily handling the #2.

For the amount of matchups that seem to have gotten worse, dat tatsu mashing has won more than a few matches for me recently. Yes it’s scrubby, but it works :frowning:

Forgot to mention backdash feels worse. I find myself getting nailed by lots of follow-ups and OS, so backdashing on wakeup probably should be used sparely.

I believe I have uncovered some tech that could be somewhat game-changing.

I’m still testing it to see the validity but having it at hand(plus some solid play) has made me go from 80th gouken online to 34th…and still have 2500 pp to show for it.

it has to do with high stun output and forcing people into a 50/50 between grab and ex tatsu fadc.

You can sum up the Gouken expierence in one phrase. “He does not easily or mindlessly go through fireballs but most of the cast can easily and mindlessly go through his.”

I really disagree with the above. But that’s ok.

That will depend on how predictable you are and if you change your fireball rhythm by charging it a bit

You have to hit with the later frames of the f. mp when they are getting up or recovering from a reset. You can’t just walk right up and do it if they are grounded.
