I don’t like the hitstun change that is supposed to eliminate unblockables. Every thing feels so much more choppy, like start-stop start-stop. It will take a while to get use to.
Ken is ridiculous.
I don’t like the new characters, or should I say, fighting against them. Decapre’s fireball ultra…are they fucking serious? She recovers before you can react or jump over and that shit is Donald Trump HUUUUGE! It’s a stupid noob’s dream of an ultra.

I fought and beat one Elena, seemed like that will be a bitch since she’s got almost Sim reach with normal speed. Her jump is going to eat a lot of AA though.
Gouken is better. He’s not complete, but he’s better. Cr.mp and ex.tatsu will have the biggest impact on my game. The jab is nice but I never really wanted to have to do 1 frame links cause I am not nor will ever be good at them, so I will probably just string out with it and mix up my follow ups like usual. I can do the links in training, I can cancel tatsu into an ultra and the whole bit, it’s just too much stress and jumping around in my game chair trying to perfect that shit that will STILL be hit or miss when it’s online. It should have just been jab jab jab sweep and call it a day.
I wanted to be happy, I really did. But I’m just kind of disaffected. I reserve complete judgment until I can get some more time in.
Even though I can’t do the jab links for the life of me in an actual match I have been getting a lot better at them. Training mode fight request is a godsend. I have been asking for it for years. It’s awesome when a game dev implements something you really want.
I have been doing very well with Gouken in online ranked. He feels a lot stronger. The 3f jab is seriously such a huge buff when it comes to dealing with pressure. As someone else said, Double Ultra seems good and really is a lot of fun. I’m sure it’s not the best option for some matchups, but I like it.
SO I think active frames on dj mp got buffed by 1 or some shit, it seems a lot more reliable against non meaty jump ins, I beat abels new wheel kick with one I think. im gonna comb my vids,

I haven’t tested the new characters yet, I got the frame data app, but it would be easier if I had the spreadsheet so I could make a workbook and keep my notes there.

I guess Gouken got that nerf too
This sucks because i used to have a gimmick where i would palm > fadc > forward throw. Now i just get punished by jabs and they are able to tech it.
And as for backthrow… my goodness it’s almost impossible to get a backthrow with the change on the teching. I probably was able to get 5 backthrows in like 80 matches.
But overall… a much improved Gouken.
An awesome frame trap that i did find was cr. lp xx stand cl. mp. This works sooooo good. Don’t know how many times i’ve been successful with this. Having a 3fr jab makes it soooo much easier to frame trap.
Is the frame trap between cr.lp and cl.mp? Cause nothing changed in that department. 3 frame cr.lp or 50 frame cr.lp, it wouldn’t alter the trap.
As far as I know this was always -5. FADC after palm on block was always unsafe.
Well, c.lp didn’t gain anything on block, so it’s not really a “better” frame trap, but just getting a c.lp is easier in a lot of situations, so maybe that’s why it seems better.
I also thought mp/hp rush punch fadc is safe, also frame data looked that way. Recovery 23fr - disadv. 6fr - f.dash 16fr = +1fr more or less…

I don’t think it’s -5 after fadc, it’s -6 on block, so why make it worse?
Maybe you guys are right, I just always heard it was still unsafe if you FADC… I never ever thought of it as safe, always as a risk.
And yeah, if something is -6 on block… and it’s a one-hit move, how can it be less safe if you FADC without nerfing Gouken’s dash?
FADC nerfs are due to decreased blockstun on a hit or a nerfed dash. As far as I know neither is the case, and his palm is only one hit.
EDIT: I just had KBT test this on his stream. Not true as of USF4. Palm FADC on block is at worst, -2. It can’t be punished by Ryu’s uppercut. So I’m wrong, but manila is also wrong.
iam thinking more of using ex palm to switch sides under opponents jumps, but never used any of the fadc w palm, or anything with fadc rather except for some mixups…
but since im looking at ways of playing differently in U4 and to stay toe to toe w decapre’s, and rolentos movements I will be looking at mpalm fadc ,not as an anti air but to crossunder and punish them w say cl st hk

The set ups that I saw lose to DWU, but she may have a work around with her air dive kick to cover both.
